We arrived knowing little about the hotel or Cappadocia. The hotel's owner and several of his friends and family were enjoying dinner & drinks and traditional music & song in the restaurant as we checked in, and they invited us to join them. For the next hour we ate and drank and chatted and sang, all on the house.
The next few days were marvellous; the staff organised activities for us and dropped us off around the region, served up huge breakfasts and delicious dinners, and kept our incredible (upgraded) room immaculate. The laundry service was somewhat expensive, but the service and charm, and the quiet and fascinating location, made the stay unforgettable.
The Gamirasu's a bit out of the way, but in an otherworldly, largely uninhabited region like Cappadocia, that's just more reason to meander about in a car or on a bike or on foot. We loved it all.
