This hotel is unbelievable but not in a good way. In the pictures and on arrival it appears a fairly grand chateaux set in remote quiet location... then you enter.
On entry the decor and furnishings are like something from the 1930's! Yes it is that dated, you can smell the damp as you move from room to room and it quickly became apparent that for whatever reason this grand old building is not being maintained adequately. The actual accommodation again you have to see it to believe it, the colour schemes, the bed linen, fixtures and fittings... I really did not think you could still buy these things let alone have a hotel decorated with them! You could soon tell why all the windows and doors were left open to try and air all the rooms and get rid of the smell of dampness that followed you around. The bed linen smelt and felt damp as you pulled back the covers so there no way we could sleep in those conditions. As we arrived late in the day we stayed the one night (we were booked in for 6), had a cup of coffee in the morning (no breakfast even though it was B&B) then made quick exit.
