Staff were friendly and room was comfortable. There is a sign in the hotel lobby that says "be nice to your housekeeper, she's alone with your toothbrush" if I was the manager I would take this sign down. The Boathouse restaurant did not offer any vegetarian entrees.
Nice hotel with great views. No restaurant service in the hotel but there are numerous restaurants within easy walking distance and the Boathouse restaurant can be accessed through the hotel.
This property is not what it used to be. I stay here at least once a year, sometimes twice. Unfortunately, the staff has been the biggest disappointment—they're neither polite nor welcoming. Whenever you ask for something, it feels like you're bothering them. For example, I requested a box of Kleenex, and the receptionist pulled out her own OPENED box from under her desk rather than going to the back room to get a new one!
The location is excellent, but like many hotels in good locations, it seems they're no longer putting in the effort. It feels as if we're supposed to be satisfied with the location alone, and that’s disappointing. I think I'll choose a hotel closer to Metrotown next time - it's only about 10 min drive from this hotel.
Hotel was nice, clean and quiet. Ample parking.
However, the bed, was rock hard and not comfortable at all. I like a firm bed but this was not firm it was hard. When paying over $300/night, having a comfortable bed should not be an issue. There is no excuse for using cheap beds. Our friends in a different room also had a rock hard bed.
Second night we called front desk for an extra blanket but they were unable to provide it. Odd for a hotel to run out of blankets.
We probably won’t stay again if we come back to New West.
Rooms were clean & spacious Like most areas in Bc lots of construction in the area. the overpass walk way is not in use so we had to walk a long distance to get out of the property on foot - that would be my only complaint
