We have stayed at this hotel since the mid 1990's and have loved it. Got a different vibe this time. Staff were indifferent and the hotel is clearly not investing in the future. Sad. It was a wonderful boutique experience. The restaurant is awful with poor food quality and service and extreme
We were put int an accessible room likely as a result of our booking error. We did not request a room change. The room was ok, but made it clear that if you needed an accessible room it came at a significant reduction in the quality of amenities. The shower, in particular was brutal. An extremely poor little shower head mounted too low for standing adults at the end of a crappy white plastic hose and a dribble of water from the head. We have stayed at more economical hotels with basic facilities that were far superiorAdded to a bathroom door that didnt close properly it was an eye opener for my wode and I who do not require accessible facilities. I mentioned it to the desk staff who gave me a blank stare and the typical "I will tell a manager" phrase that told me that they really did not care about their guests experience, particularly those that need a bit of consideration. It should not require a sacrifice of experience to have an accessible space, but the Lonsdale Quay certainly makes that a reality. I am embarassed that the only way I realized this is as a resultof our less than optimal experience. Luckily there are many alternatives in this price point for our future consideration.
