Very good

Good location, quiet, working air conditioner, friendly stuff and 24-hours reception, good coffee and breakfast. All we needed. Rooms rather small but feels venetian
The room provided the bare minimum. There were plenty of towels and a concierge available 24 hour. We got the room we expected but it was a very damp and dark room. The smell inside the room smelled like feet and vomit and was so strong we were uncomfortable the entire time we were inside the room. Needless to say we got horrible sleep. I suggest you read the reviews before booking here and spend a little more for a different location and hotel.
The room was spacous enough as well as the bathroom. The staff was fabulous and the breakfasts were great. It would have been nice to have it included in the price of the hotel (as many others we stayed at had included)
We walked everywhere and the vaparetto location was very close when we went to go the Murano and Burano. The staff was very helpful to answer all our questions and the breakfast and cleaning staff were excellent. Thanks for the nice stay.
Crepiest hotel I’ve ever been. Receptionists were friendly. But the room was super old, dark, dirty, and super creepy. It was horror movie hotel. Bags of laundry at the entrance.

Need to work more on cleaning, the sheets had stains and the blanket had some weird spots on it like gum sticking
We had a very nice room and the staff were very friendly. I think people dined elsewhere as I never saw anyone in the dining area for breakfast or dinner. We came back with a to go box since I couldn't finish my meal and he informed us that we could not eat in our room. We could store it in the refrigerator but we would need to come to the dining area to eat. That was a little odd, I'm 55 and have never been told I can't eat in the room. Bathroom may have been the smallest of our trip, but room was very clean and beautiful. We were asked to settle up our bill the night before we checked out, which was fine, and made an easier day when we left. Again, very friendly staff, and clean. One note with Venice and this location, I may be a touch hesitant on staying here as a solo traveler only because of the narrow side street it was on, but staying alert and aware of your surroundings it would be fine.

Although common for many of the places we stayed in Europe, hard mattress and 4th floor without an elevator was difficult. Small but clean room. Bathroom updated. Breakfast for 10€/ea was cereals, breads, yogurt and coffee, tea and juices. Location was about 1-2 minutes walk to the harbor and St Mark’s.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
It was close to Marco square. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was good (in the hub but just off the really busy. Had character though a little dated.
Hotel Castello is full of old world charm from the heavy brass century entry doors to the ornate Venitian glass chandeliers and old Italian style furnishings and room decor. I LOVED the roof deck for grabbing a glass of wine and relax from the busyness of the day. Hotel Castello is exactly what I needed in Venice. I also felt perfectly safe as a female solo traveller. There is only a restyfor breakfast but that isn’t a problem in a city like Venice. I wouldn’t advise Castello to people who can’t walk stairs though as stairs are involved in navigating the property.
Great overall. Provides everything you need necessary. Double bed was 2 twins together, and room is little dusty and small due to the age of area, but overall very friendly, helpful and clean.
