I travel a lot and have stayed at many hotels in the Kelowna area. Property was clean, pet friendly with nice areas outside for walking etc, food at gulfstream restaurant was great. Good options around the property for other amenities as well.
What I found surprising was the lack of basic customer service and/or manners of the individual when we checked in. I am used to receiving a warm welcome to a property and a run down of what to expect when staying there.
When checking in, the staff member at the front desk was abrupt, distracted, and not friendly or helpful at all. She gave me a lengthy pet form to read and complete. She didn’t ask if we needed assistance or about a vehicle and didn’t tell us about the daily $10 charge for surface parking and registering a vehicle. We saw the sign in the elevator about parking when we were taking the first load of bags to the room.
I had to go back and wait in line again to ask about it. I got the same person, and she blurted out that it’s $10 a day and vehicles had to be registered or vehicles would be towed. I didn’t know the full plate numbers so I asked if I could come back with them in a bit and she said she couldn’t even make a note while we got unpacked and settled unless she had the full plate number.
It wasn’t a good first impression and set the tone for the stay. Thankfully the person who checked us out was lovely and helpful and cared enough to ask about how the stay was.
