The Zed hotel is a fun and quirky place that is a unique stay in. Grandma’s basement was very fun and nostalgic to hang out in. The staff were lovely and helpful.

Super cool vibe as a result of the “retro” touches. Great little extra touches that really bring it together. Grandmas Basement was a particularly cool extra. Highly recommend to check it out. Ruby’s for food fantastic as well. Room super clean and well appointed. Not the quietest stay but this did not impact our stay overly. Highly recommend giving Motel Zed a try.

The hotel was very cool with a well curated design and atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate a silly special request. The room was very small but immaculate and comfortable.

We were placed literally right by the pool slide, which was outdoors. It was a constant barrage of children screaming. We could do nothing during the pools open hours- there were so many children running around there would be no relaxation. One night at least eight 15 ish year olds had crammed themselves into the hot tub and were loudly talking and messing around. The room itself was fine, a bit smaller than expected, but clean and well appointed. The water pressure was absolutely abysmal and it took forever to shower. The bathroom itself was pretty cramped. If we weren't by screaming child central, and could actually use or enjoy the pool, our rating would be higher. Just beware any childfree people wanting to stay here, it's usually jam packed with young teens and children. The on site cafe was very good, but once again, so cramped. Removing some tables would make the space feel and sound better.

Lovely stay! I was hesitant to book because it’s not right downtown but it’s only 4 bus stops away from downtown and takes less than 10 mins by bus. The hot tub was awesome and rooms super cool. Would definitely stay again.

Our first stay at a hotel zed. It was super cute and the room was very clean. Just a few things to note. One of the staff members was fixing something that involved some sort of hammering at around 7am. Knowing that the hotel isn’t very sound proof it would have been nice if they had waited if possible. I also wish they provided robes for the walk over to the pool since it’a an outdoor entrance. I know there’s a change room but it would just be a nice option :) staff was all super friendly and the French press was a nice touch. I love the glass container for the grinds. But they may want to re think putting the cream into the containers. It was impossible to pour into the coffees without making a huge mess and spilling everywhere. the attached diner was super cute but not very affordable for those just wanting a quick breakfast. it would be nice if the lobby had some pieces of fruit/muffins for those who don't want to commit to a $30 breakfast. i didnt find parking to be an issue but i could see how it would be in the summer during peak season. All in all i would stay again.

Such a fun, well-designed hotel! We loved our colourful and comfortable room. The hot tub was a great bonus. Even though the hotel is not in the heart of downtown, it is very conveniently located. An easy bus ride to downtown, Butchart Gardens and the ferry terminal

We liked the room and activities for our kids. It was in a bit out of the way but 8-10 minute drive to harbour area. It was busy at the hotel but found basement rec room was quiet and fun. Price was reasonable probably because if location.
