What a charm place to stay!
Staff were very kind, thorough and caring. Our room was in the cottage next to the hotel, and it was spacious and lovely, providing everything we needed. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, and I have to say that the potatoes were the best I've ever had. Will stay here again!

The James Bay Inn is well located from the downtown core. The staff are excellent, friendly and efficient. The food in the restaurant is very good, and the service there was incredibly good. It is our second year taking a pre-Christmas trip to Victoria with another couple, we from the Island and they from North Pender.

This was a very convenient location for my purposes. Easy walking distance to downtown and main city bus exchange. There is no elevator, so being on the 3rd floor was a bit of a nuisance after having walked around the city all day. Convenient to have the pub and restaurant in the same building. Staff were all extremely friendly. Price was certainly reasonable. I would recommend to friends to stay here.

Grand old hotel, piece of Victorian history
This is a very cool old hotel, lots of history and authenticity. No elevators, but for those who enjoy a few stairs it's well worth it. Rooms are big and comfortable, and the staff is pleasant and helpful.

Great character hotel. UK feeling. If you’re expecting a big chain named cookie cutter suite, this place is not for you. If you’re expecting an authentic UK styled building then this is where you want to be. Great overall value. Check out the reasonably priced restaurant downstairs also.

A unique historic hotel in agret neighborhood for.
Lovely heritage property in convenient and peaceful neighborhood. Lots of casual charm, pleasant staff. No elevator no air conditioning but if you don't need those features it offers a good value and a break from the sameness of the chains.

We had a lovely family weekend at James Bay Inn. The rooms are spacious and the staff is amazing. Only a 10 minute walk to government street. Our room was over the pub and the nouse carried but otherwise a great stay.
