MOOONs was a quick overnight between the Vienna Airport (arriving from New Zealand) and a train to Kitzbuhel (solo traveler). Front desk very cordial, excellent English. Perfect room (very quiet for a busy district), perfect service, delicious food. BTW, the staff loved the penguin videos from NZ.

The location is the best feature for this hotel. It is close to the main rain station and metro station, Very walkable. The rooms are small and dark. The theme of the hotel is very dark. I think the style is more for gen Z since there is no phone in the room for any service and they only offer instant coffee in room.

Good hotel, needs some improvement

Overall the hotel is good. It looks a lot more luxurious in the pictures than it actually is. It is slightly neglected. The carpet in the corridors and in the rooms needs washing. The bed was comfortable, the room quiet. Breakfast is vegetarian, but you can also ask for ham or sausages. They welcomed us with a free drink. The staff is great. Kind and helpful. The hotel has a garage so if you are traveling by car you can park it there. And the hotel is very close to the metro station. And very close to Belvedere castle. The hotel needs some improvement, but overall is good.

I really enjoyed my stay at Mooons, my view (Garden View) was great, I could even see fireworks for NYE. The location was great, with close proximity to public transportation and a great walk to Belvedere. Would recommend and stay again.

We really wanted to like our stay at Mooons but struggled with the little details. The hotel is clean, new, and modern and it we generally felt our room and our bathroom were the same (although when I dropped something to require me to look under the bed I did find a bunch of pistachio nuts). However, the rooms were hot. I asked reception the first night and while the service was quite nice, there was nothing they could do. This continued through our stay and the woman we spoke to who came to our room (to help with the TV issue described below) had said they received a number of complaints that the rooms were too hot. So we spent at least 3 nights with the room well and truly above 20C with no way of opening the windows. The second thing that irked us was the tech connectivity. The Google chrome connection to the TV did not want to cooperate. The front desk clerk could not figure it out. After a long day out exploring Vienna we just wanted to relax and watch a movie so this was frustrating. Finally, they make a nice gesture by giving you a “free drink” at check in, however it was only Prosecco or a soft drink. All fine, it’s free, but it would have just been nice to know the limits as my partner and I were keen in getting a beer or glass of wine as our drink. I’d suggest clearer communication with the voucher.

Everything was amazing really. My only observation was that given we’re in Vienna, the breakfast maybe could include some sausages? Anyways, besides that I’d say that if your 5 feet 11 inches or taller you probably should not consider the twin bed options as they are pretty small.
