A hotel full of character located in a medieval castle with many original features and a stunning rooftop terrace with a 360° view over the surrounding hills. The castle is in the centre of a picturesque little town and will suite somebody looking for a very quite stay. Pool is located moments away by foot
The woman that manages the property took such good care of us. She was so wonderful and cannot say enough good things about her. We wished we had stayed more than 1 night. We will for sure come back.
The castle was absolutely beautiful! We had a lovely room with an amazing view of the Rollinghills. The breakfast was incredible! The pool was set in a Beautiful garden and at night it was all lit up like a fairytale. GiovanGiorgio could not have been kinder. He was extremely professional and gave us a fascinating tour of the castle! We look forward to returning next year God willing.
Unique and excellent experience here. It was a random pick but turned out to be very special. We were the only guest that night and the host cooked us a nice meal and showed us around the weapon room and his family history to us. In the morning we were invited to the top of the castle where there is a beautiful panoramic view of the whole area. We would love to return in the future!
Lovely experience staying at a real castle. The castle is perched atop the mountain village. The castle sits in front of the town square where you can view all the goings on in the town. Wake up to a vista of the Lazio/Tuscan landscape. Just magnificent. The property encompasses much of the area valley and has lovely gardens and a beautiful pool.

We stayed at the Royal suite. This room was nicely decorated with a lot of antiques. I really enjoyed looking all details and took many nice photos in the room. And WiFi was much faster than where we stayed in Italy. We went to use the pool right after we checked in. It was a bit walk from the hotel. Pool was clean but around pool was kind of cluttered. A few chairs were broken. Make sure you have a mosquito repellent. We couldn’t stay there too long because of mosquitos and decided to check out the roof terrace afterwards. It was clean. The view was amazing to watch sunset. But there was no chair. It could be nice if they set up a nice sitting area. We ate a set menu dinner at the hotel. The dining area was interesting to see medieval details. Food was just ok. Compare to what we ate in Italy, it was very basic. Tuna was over cooked. Cheese was just ok. We only had a choice between white and red wines. Got a very light wine from Umbria. It was almost like water. Definitely not that great for 40 euro per person dinner.
We had an amazing dinner with 4 different wine pairing for 42 euro per person at the hotel we stayed a night before. So we were disappointed.
Overall not sure if it was worth for what I paid for my room. ( I paid $157 ) This is run by a family. There’s NO service in the hotel.
One manager lady helps every guests including serving dinner. She was really excellent!
If you don’t expect too much it’s a good stay.
How cool to get to say you stayed in a castle. The property has been in the family for over 500 years. The owner bought out family members, repaired crumbling floors and turned it into a beautiful hotel. Don’t think luxury when you book here but you are doing your part to preserve history. The family is kind and welcoming, the room was nice, and after breakfast we received a tour of the property by the owner to learn the history. The view from the roof top is incredible!!! They didn’t tell us when we checked in, but there is also a pool. I wish we would have known because a walk around town takes all of 10 minutes so we just sat in the room until bed bored. A dip in the pool would have been nice. Overall it was a great stay and I would return.
We just had a fantastic stay at Castello Costaguti. The stunning view from the room, decorated with beautiful centuries old antics, friendly and helpful owners and staff, and having excellent dinner in a grand dining room. The owners gave us a tour of this Castello. An unforgettable experience...we will definitely stay there again

Worth the drive
Finding it wasn't easy but very enjoyable and it was a pleasant departure from the rat races at the big tourist destinations. Family run and they are very good hosts, you may want to contact them ahead of your arrival yo discuss dinner plans as it is pretty remote and they cook as needed. Breakfast was good and served in one of the coolest parlors we have been in.
The castle is in a beautiful little village, feels secluded but not far from many other wonderful places to visit. It was peaceful and magical. My hosts were so welcoming and even invited me to eat dinner with them the first night as I was alone. It was nice to stay somewhere with such history that is run by a family and not a big corporation. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and overall it was a very special stay.
