Property is very dated and neglected. Our room had a very very musty smell that I can only describe as wet stinky socks. Additionally the wall paper in the room was coming away from the walls and the bathroom caulk looked pretty gross. We booked the hotel for the pool facilities, however those are very neglected as well. I can only say that the photos online must of been taken years ago, as it does not look as nice in person. Hotel staff were great and accommodating and I think the staff in the hotel are doing the best they can with what they have. Unfortunately the hotel needs renovation and investment. We wouldn't stay here again. The hotel was not terrible however it was bordering acceptable which is not what we were expecting.

Great one night stay
Great one night stay - friendly staff on arrival, well maintained historic hotel with spacious and comfortable single room with basic amenities, like kettle and TV. Fantastic breakfast, good spread and eating in the beautiful ballroom. Swimming pool with good changing facilities - could maybe use a revamp but still good in current state. Overall, I would recommend if staying around the area as convenient for all things nearby.

Great hotel and breakfast
Very close to train and bus (which worked well for us). We had a hiccup at check in, but all was resolved. Great breakfast. Room had a sitting area, the extra space was great. We did not get a chance to enjoy the pool.

Very old hotel. Food was terrific. I ate there for egery meal including breakfast. They underestimated the facility. The sauna was great and then there was a pool and a hot tub. Both excellent. I highly recommend.

The hotel location is very good; the train track is just 3 steps behind the hotel. We enjoyed very much staying in this historical hotel. The restaurant is also excellent. Our waiter. Arham, was very nice and helpful.

An old building. Lacking modern facilities. Bathrooms are quite dated. The reception is on the second level and not accessible by car. Good point so the proximity to the train station. Breakfast spread is quite extensive. Staff is friendly and courteous.

The rooms. They looked like they weren’t updated in years and the carpets were folding over in the corridors so you had to be careful when you were walking on dragging your luggage.

We loved our stay here. Great view of the lake. Wonderful spread for breakfast and they didn’t seem to mind most guests making a pack lunch. Very expensive dinner but some more reasonably priced options if you order in the bar. We made use of the lovely pool and sauna in the basement. Friendly staff and great location. Old world charm and grandeur.
