The hotel room was very nice. However, we couldn't get anybody at the front desk to help us with anything.It was all via text and a phone call. And it was a little on the expensive side for what was provided.

Asked for ice and received it 4.5 hours later, floor boards move and pinch your feet, towels were thin, snagged and old. Zero artwork on walls and remote control didn’t control the volume of the TV. The shower took 15 minutes to get hot water when water is scarce. Just very low effort to make it nice.

This property has a very late 4pm check in. If you need to check in earlier it costs an extra $40. There was no plug in near the vanity. The couple who helped us check in and answered our questions were very nice and professional. We will recommend.

We had a great 4th of July with our dog. It was very quiet and we lived that Julian Cidery was walking distant. Great restaurant on site as well, Jeremy's on the Hill.

We were pleasantly surprised about Apple Tree Inn! We were staying in Julian for 2 nights, and we had a good time! The place was clean with a great rustic feel (no bugs either! We thought we would have to fight critters due to the area). It is right next and across the street from some restaurants so you have easy access to food, and staff were attentive (through messaging) if we ever stay again, we will definitely look into staying here again

Great location and the rooms were very clean. The rooms looked like they had been recently updated. The grounds were not very well maintained. They obviously took out the pool and left the pump house behind and even the skimmer. There was a wrought iron gate just laying on the ground with an orange cone on it. I think this property has a lot of potential but it needs some TLC!

We booked a room for Thursday, May 22, 2025. When we arrived in Julian shortly after 1 PM, we called the hotel to see if we could check in a little early. We were told that if we wanted to check in early, we would be charged a $40 fee. we declined. We were offered, however, a little earlier of a check in, like 2:30, without being charged a fee. When we arrived, there was absolutely no one at the hotel. No other rooms were occupied, and there was no staff. The office was closed. It looked abandoned. We were given instructions to use a code to enter the room. When we got into the room we noticed the shower appeared dirty, along with dried soap drippings from a dispenser above the tub. The bathroom was generally in bad shape. We called the hotel contact number (because no staff was there) to request another room. We spoke to the same lady we had talked to earlier - apparently everything is handled remotely - and received a code for another room. The second one was in better shape. After settling in, we walked around and noticed the general disrepair of the place. Overgrown landscape and haphazard outdoor furniture and tired bbq. The pool had been filled in. The grounds were not what the pictures showed. After coming back from town and dinner, we noticed we were still the only ones there. The one other tenant was no longer there. After dark, we saw a car pull in and then leave. At this point, my wife was no longer comfortable staying the night and we found another place in town.
