Beautiful property and nice rooms. Clean. Easy valet service. Quick elevators. Really disappointed in the customer service though. My wife, son and I arrived after a long drive and we had to wait in a long, inefficient line to check in... only to be told our room wasn't ready. We couldn't get in until after 430 pm despite telling the front desk we had early dinner reservations. We ended up changing into dress clothes in the lobby bathroom. There was always a line or long delay at the front desk. We asked for bedding for the pull out bed and they kept forgetting/delayed to get it for us. We had a suite that was interior only - no exterior windows. There was a beeping in the room that was loud enough to be disruptive but not occurring frequently enough for the staff or us to figure out the cause. Not sure if we will stay again.

We loved the property and the kindness of being greeted every morning and night. The room were so spacious and clean. My only negative is we were charged someone else’s breakfast to our room. When we asked at checkout they said they could not do anything at the time and we would have to call back. 2 weeks later and we are still dealing with this mess. After they looked at the footage they did not see us in the restaurant so reversed the charge but then charged another party in our group! We were not even in the hotel at the time stamped for the breakfast receipt. So needless to say we are still dealing with this inconvenience. They need to come up with a better system at the restaurant and verify the room number with the name on the account before allowing a charge to be added or give vouchers for the restaurant and not allow anything to be charged to the room. A better system needs to be made because this is ridiculous.

We absolutely LOVED the Royal Sonnesta Washington Dc Capitol. Very clean property, welcoming and friendly staff. Our room was spacious, clean and decorated nicely. Loved they gave us a resuable water bottle. In a very convenient location and within walking distance to Union Station. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

We had a car which is really a negative in the city. The hotel parking is expensive and parking is always difficult (husband is DC native, and we lived in NOVA for many years). It is better to use Metro and Uber, but our circumstances were not amenable to that. We had no complaints about the hotel at all. Our room was quiet and well-appointed and we enjoyed a lovely weekend for a family wedding.

Staff especially were so welcoming and helpful. The hotel is clearly new in terms of finishes and general freshness, but it's also kept clean. The restaurant/bar was fantastic (French bistro, but elevated a bit), and there is pleasant outdoor seating for those of us who cannot afford to get covid. Rooms are huge and well appointed, and even the dreary atrium view was easy to ignore with the comfort of the bed and couches. (Although next time I would probably upgrade to a better view.) The noise transfer from the hallway and from other rooms wasn't ideal--but you can't hear people or televisions in other rooms, just bumping/contact with walls/doors/shelves. So it's better than most places in that regard. Taking clothes off hangers caused the hangers to hit the back wall of the wardrobe, so maybe putting some fabric or felt at the back would help with that--I heard my neighbors do it and I did it too. The only other thing that wasn't perfect was the price of valet parking, which is high for the area, especially with so much parking nearby. But the valet was extremely efficient and kind (and it was the same person all three days and nights, which is a rough schedule! I would have been grouchy and he was not). Fantastic stay--I just point these things out because the hotel is relatively new and sometimes that feedback is helpful.
