The check in and out was friendly and helpful but the general condition was badly in need of repair. The floors in the room were filthy the carpet was in need of replacing I think they were so bad cleaning wouldn’t have helped. However the sheets were clean and pleasantly fresh. And the beds were reasonably comfortable.

Due to health reasons, I always request a ground floor room. Request was not relayed to the motel and we were assigned a 2nd floor room. Impossible to carry suit cases up stairs so very inconvenient.

We paid just shy of 700 CAD for a one night stay at this property for a room that would sleep 6 guests with a full kitchen. Check in was listed at 4 PM. We arrived early and inquired about checking in and were told that our room was not realy yet. No problem we knew we were early and had lots of places to explore. We left to explore the area and returned at 4 to check in. We were again told our room was not ready and to come back at 4:30. Again we left and returned at 4:30 only to be told that the room was still not ready and they would call us as soon as it was ready. We were all hot, sweaty (from hiking) and starting to get hungry at this point. We opted to go for dinner even though we would have liked very much to have showered and changed before eating. When we finally got checked in we noticed that the room was very dated and not in the best condition. The kitchen table has been screwed back together and there was drywall putty on the wall behind the door that had never been sanded and repainted. When we went to shower there was no shampoo in the dispenser and not enough towels for the number of guests on the reservation. We had to go to the front desk to ask for more. In the kitchen there was no dishwasher soap and no wash clothes or towels. There was one AC unit for the L shaoed layout resulting in a very hot toom for my kids to try to sleep in. We did open the windows but the layout also does not allow for any airflow.

The lodge is in a great location. The staff were all very friendly but the room is just okay. There have been some renovations but it’s in need of more. I know this area is expensive but it just seemed a lot to pay for the type of room we received.

Location is ok but over priced. Stayed on Sunday and Monday of August long weekend and the resort closed restaurant for a staff party. I think that was a poor decision considering how busy it was Room was clean but dated. Priced as if it was a 5 star resort but felt like 3 star at best

Common hotels for tourists
We stayed at Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort, booking two rooms during peak season. While the location is great, the experience didn’t quite meet our expectations, especially considering the price was doubled compared to regular seasons. The rooms were small, and the refrigerator was empty without complimentary water bottles. Additionally, we experienced high noise levels whenever the neighbors upstairs used the bathroom, which was quite disruptive. When we requested printed receipts at checkout, we were told to download them from Hotels.com. Unfortunately, I had to call the hotel again to request the receipt, which was inconvenient. Overall, I’d give our stay a 6/10. The location is a strong point, but our issues made the experience less enjoyable, particularly given the higher price.
