About this property

waterfront guest house, historic fishing village

We welcome you to experience this Historic Inn as your stay on the coast of Massachusetts. The Paquachuck Inn, located on the very tip of Westport Point, was built in 1827 by privateer, Issac Cory and served as a ship chandlery and general store, as well as customs house and post office. Original store cabinets, harpoons and huge whale vertebrae remind guests of those former days. The imposing three story post and beam building towers above the town dock with views of the harbor entrance, active fishing fleet, and oyster farm. Our windows open onto salt winds and the sound of the ocean.
Our Inn is a gorgeous structure with an original stone end, that features three floors with nine bedrooms and three shared bathrooms. Each bedroom has a queen bed with exception of the Annie M Petty room, which has a queen and a twin. The Thomas Paull room offers two twin beds and a comfortable library on the second floor.
On the main floor there is the main living area, originally the Cory general store, with a working fireplace and multiple seating areas. A full semi-commercial kitchen and stone floor dining area await you.
Follow the impressive slate floor out to the patio, gardens, dock and working waterfront. A quick walk out the door will take you to the neighboring oyster bar, the working harbor and a fifteen-minute walk to Horseneck Beach, voted one of the best, 'hidden gem' beaches on the South Coast by Yankee Magazine 2018.
Exit through the side door to the lovely glass antique greenhouse with lanterns and comfortable seating.

Our location on Westport Point is THE spot to launch into adventure for a perfect Farm Coast experience. Fishing charters, Artist Studio Tours, Art Instruction, Boat Rentals, Farm Tours, a local oyster bar, craft brewery and an award-winning local winery are just the beginning of what the Farm Coast has to offer!

There's a private balcony or patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. The bathroom has a bathtub and a hair dryer. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.

FORUM RETREAT
We have a group of 9 business owners in our forum that all wanted their own room. We rented the whole Inn! It was a great set up for our groups agenda. Great restaurants and oyster shack very close which was nice for a couple of our meals! Highly recommend this fun place. It was a great taste of Cape Cod history and culture!

Great stay
Overall, this was a fantastic stay for our family reunion in mid July. Rented the entire inn and it was a perfect space for our family, big enough for 14 of us, it's a cool old historic inn, full of quirky oddities throughout. I don't think it's marketed well. Swimming from the dock in the back yard, lobster roll restaurant steps away or a lobster boat selling fresh lobster when his “white flag with a lobster” is up also steps away. Cozy rooms, well equipped kitchen, an awesome dining room with a big farm table and a big wet bar - a professional 10 seat bar. Beautiful breeze throughout the house in the middle of a hot July. Air conditioners offered but not necessary for this weekend. A very typical New England / Cape Cod feel. We really enjoyed our stay - until the last 4 minutes... Check out was 11am. At 11:06 we were saying our good byes at the door when the innkeeper/owner, Brenda showed up. She never asked how our stay was and started to complain that we had used a table cloth on the farm table...? We explained we ate lobsters one night but had cleaned the table and had washed, dried and folded the table cloth and left on the cleaned table. She exclaimed "Who would eat lobster INSIDE? It STINKS!" she was bizarrely rude. And frankly we left the inn a little cleaner than we found it, Cleanliness is the weak spot of the inn, everything in kitchen needed to cleaned before use. She didn't even empty the fridge it was half full of her food..?!
