We were very pleased with every aspect of our stay in Whitby. The accommodation was excellent in every way and would gladly recommend it.

Lots to improve
The room was fine, clean and the bed comfortable. The toilet which operated on a sani flow system was very noisy and so was not good to use during the night. In addition it stopped flushing on our penultimate day. Luckily I spotted the cleaner on our way out and was able to report it and it was fixed that day. This was the only time I saw anyone attatched to the hotel. None of the suggested means of contact produced contact. We were not able to access the free netflix and on the final evening lost all tv.Finally, I accept the room was advertised as an attic room, however, it would have been good to have been made aware of the 48 steps to get to it.( my attic room has half that number) I am 78, fit and active but I certainty didn't appreciate the climb to my room after a lovely day in beautiful but very hilly Whitby.
Had a lovely stay at Argyle House, was comfortable and convenient. Easy to find and Bill gives you all the information you need. Close to major attractions and in a very walkable area. Room was clean and the slight gothic decor in our room was fun and on theme for the area.
A great location just outside the town,
The host's are brilliant with great communication, The Hotel is, quiet and very
Good, Tea/coffee facilities in my room was lovely and my double bed was divine. I had the attic room but it didnt feel like a attic room.
We left and found alternative accommodation, room was very dark , extremely gothy , which picture watching over you , black bed , black bedding , black mirror , shall I continue ! Host very helpful but just not to out taste.
The self check in was great but on leaving we could not lock the key in , the room was perfect for a 2 night stay , also we like if you needed anything for your room it was there on the landing or downstairs
This hotel is fabulous ,gorgeous, clean rooms ,it was a weekend for us as a couple so not sure what would be available for children ,but from what we saw and needed they were great!! Such helpful staff giving us details of our parking the evening before ,which then ment as we got there earlier we were able to use the pass once we got parked up .I would highly recommend here ,we for sure would visit again for our Whitby stay
Our attic room was cute and comfortable and very clean, with a view of the abbey. Tea/coffee/milk were unlimited in supply; check-in was seamless and the guest house is very well located. The only problem was parking: we did find a space but it was a bit of a walk, not really a problem for us and perhaps to be expected as we arrived quite late in the day on a bank holiday weekend. We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.
