We had a wonderful experience at Maswik. We spent a few bucks more for a room in a renovated building. Totally worth it! The room was quite nice, much nicer than we were expecting. We ate multiple meals at the lodge and enjoyed all of them. You can eat healthier or indulgent and they have plenty of options for both. Every person we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. We also loved the location. You can walk to the Bright Angel hiking trailhead (took us about 15 minutes). We saw shuttles carrying people, but it's so close you don't need them. This is an excellent choice of lodging for enjoying the Grand Canyon!

The people above me arrived late and didn’t go to bed until 2:00 am or so. They were talking, kids were running around, I could hear things being dropped on the floor. They weren’t doing it on purpose, the walls and floors are so thin everything get heard. My bed was stiff and uncomfortable-mattress tops would help. I finally got to sleep at 3:30 am, 2 1/2 hours before I had to wake up. Worst sleep I’ve had.

The room was nice, but no microwave. We had to go ask the desk for coffee for our room. The staff was very nice and helpful. I have never experienced getting a text the night before we left, wanting a check out time.
