Toftrees is a nice spot near State College, we stayed while dropping my son at school. We did not play the course, I think it’s private, but it looks beautiful. The Field Burger and Tap is popular because the food is solid and the atmosphere is casual. The wait for a table of 6 was reported to be 75 min on a Friday night at 8pm; it was closer to 45. The hotel is a bit dated, but still a cut above. We found out that the ceiling did not have insulation against loud neighbors. This is not the fault of the hotel, but also not something I’ve experienced at a Hampton Inn (or similar). The staff was very responsive when I called them at 5:30 am to address the arguing couple above. So plus marks for the site. I would stay there again; would request a 2nd floor, and endeavor to NOT argue with MY wife at 5AM 😀

The property is a 5 minute drive to Penn State!!! Love the restaurant on the property. Beautiful golf course. Rooms need to be updated. They probably are the same as when the hotel was built. Besides that, it was a very nice place to stay.
