Tru Wilmington is TOP DOG for this class of hotels

Tee checked us in and was super friendly and welcoming. We have had two different roadtrips in the last two months, each one spanning two or more weeks, and we stayed in a lot of different hotels like Tru, each with similar rooms and free breakfast in the morning. The Tru in Wilmington was by far the best. The staff were friendly and responsive. The place was spotlessly clean throughout the hotel. The breakfast was good, and all of the associated things (nuts, berries, brown sugar, etc.) that you mix into your oatmeal or put on your pancakes/waffles were fully stocked (unlike many of the hotels we visited on our roadtrips). Finally, the pool area, with tons of two-person cabanas, was fantastic, and the outdoor area also had a ping pong table and a cornhole area to go along with the free pool table in the breakfast area. All in all, this was a great stay and we will definitely be back next time we're in Wilmington! PS: it's very close to a great Thai restaurant called Indochine, so be sure to stop there on your next trip too!
