Hays Hideout is all about peace and serenity. Comfortably sleeping 12, this 3,300 square foot dream offers 5 comfortable bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, and plenty of space for you to relax and enjoy your Hill Country vacay.

The main house of Hay's Hideout features a spacious living room with ample seating, a wall-mounted HDTV, and cozy fireplace. Behind the living area is where you'll find the kitchen which is complete with efficient appliances, cooking and dining essentials, and bar seating. Need more seating? The dining table comfortably seats 10.

The main house of Hays Hideout also features 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bathroom features a king bed, twin day bed, and large attached bath. The second and third bedrooms each have a king bed, and there's a cozy queen bed in the fourth bedroom. There is also a second full bathroom down the hall from the third and fourth bedrooms.

Then there's the Casita guest home! The Casita is a studio-type setup that comfortably sleeps 3 and features a living area, kitchenette, full bathroom, and queen bed area. Trek up the ladder and you'll see the extra twin bed in the loft space.

Both the Casita and main home have access to a large pool, propane campfire pit area, a cozy porch with plenty of seating, and tons of space for the kids!

Girls weekend trip
A group of us went to Wimberly for a 10-year friendship anniversary to have fun and getaway from the city. We visited Wimberly Square and did a lot of shopping. We saw a lot of wildlife which was totally neat to see. We also was able to enjoy the hot tub and stargaze. The trip was totally perfect and would definitely recommend!

Wedding Fun
We flew in for a family wedding and the whole family was able to stay in one location. Loved the big round table for family dinners! Had fun in the pool and relaxed in the hot tub. The donkey was an added fun bonus.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The outside pool and jacuzzi was very relaxing, highlight by the remote ranch property. Vacay was very responsive in accommodating our needs and very pleasant to deal with. I would definitely stay there again if ever returning to the area.

Property is not taken care of as reviews state, the pans still had food from last people or someone before us. Stinging scorpions were very active as we killed 4 in the house and saw 2 in the pool. Lamas and donkey escaped out of the gate due to not being able to see the gate when you stop to press in the gate code as you’re exiting and they must have been right there waiting. Glasses and cups in small house were filthy also. The lack of cleanliness is on the cleaning staff but an exterminator is on owner. I would not stay here again but will be back to the area every year as we’ve done for years.

Remote and quiet getaway
Nice home with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy visiting with family and friends. We enjoyed the hot tub and the porch seating was great for donkey/llama/deer watching. However, the porch and seating could use a good cleaning. The casita was a nice perk giving each of the couples plenty of privacy. This home actually has enough beds to sleep 16 but limits to a max of 12 guest/4 vehicles. The huge round table seats 10! Location can be a pro or con depending on your plans. If you plan to go into town or visit any of the local wineries and breweries just know that it is quite a drive. This home is very remote and is off twisty/turny back roads that turn into a dirt road. You car will be dusty but the stars in the night sky were spectacular and a fair tradeoff. We thought the location was very serene. Upon checking out the owners request that you take the trash to the main road. This is not a short, walkable distance. IMO, putting trash in my car and driving it off property should NOT be the responsibility of guests. This service should be included in the cleaning fee charged. Additionally, there were not any large trash bags under the sink—minor detail that was missed in the home prep. A sign or note to bring attention to the second thermostat across from the pantry could be helpful. It took us a bit to figure out that the bedrooms are on a separate unit. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here! The pros definitely outweigh any cons. We would stay again!

Beautiful Property!
Our family came in from NY and we all stayed here for a week, it was a beautiful property, perfect location, very functional home for the entire family. Really not many complaints! What I would say is… the cleanliness could be better, under furniture and dusting of fans but we really appreciated the access to the vacuum cleaner and mop! Having kiddos there it was nice to be able to clean up after them and clean the areas that needed a little extra attention. By no means was the property dirty, just had some areas that weren’t as clean as the rest! The other thing is we LOVED the animals! It was fun for the kids to watch them! I would warn anyone staying here though, this property is their home, I wouldn’t get too close! Not sure about the llamas but the donkey definitely tried biting if we got too close. We went outside of the fence to take pictures and he/she got excited, our 4 year old was in front of him, he was trying to get through, and almost trampled her. So definitely keep a distance, we don’t blame the donkey what so ever, but I would definitely add a “warning” to the description of the property. Outside of that, we had an amazing time! Everything was so nice and so perfect and peaceful! It was truly a great time for us! We really appreciate the accommodations and location of this property!

We really enjoyed the time spent at this property. It is a beautiful area, very private. There was plenty of room for all the family . The kids really enjoyed the pool. The front porch was perfect for morning coffee and hanging out. The llamas and donkey are a plus. There are two negatives… the water in the house out of the faucets smelled really bad. Not sure if that is a filter issue. Also the hot tub was not “hot”. The heater did not work. We would consider coming back in the future. Plenty to do in the Wimberley area .

Great Family Vacation Home
Hays Hideaway was a great spot for our 3 families to gather for Spring break. The teens enjoyed the casita for themselves and the little kids loved playing in the hot tub! The donkey and llamas that roam the property were such a fun addition. The accommodations are very comfortable and updated. We would definitely return for another visit.

Fun family getaway
Had a great time with our family! The refrigerator wasn't working properly but it was addressed as best as possible. Other issues: Water from tap had a smell(guessing because it was well water). Also, bathrooms could have been cleaned better upon arrival. All and all we made the best of it and still had a good time. Kids loved the llamas and donkey that came to visit!

The property is beautiful. Great place for our family to send time together. A few issues, scorpions everywhere! The AC downstairs in the little house did not cool it off, major water damage stain and mildew in the little house bathroom, the big issue was the dryer would dry!

Great spot for our Family getaway to the Hill Country, but was a little more primitive and rustic than we expected. The llamas and donkey were great for the kids and the adults loved seeing all the deer and wildlife that came through. Overall great place to spend family vacay as long as your expectations are at the right level.

Easy access, very private, great fun!
The property had everything we needed for a fun family vacation- pool with floats and toys, towels, stocked bathrooms, and basic supplies. There was even a friendly outdoor cat to greet us each day and play with the kids! Our main complaints are the smell and taste of the water, which is noted in previous reviews, and the little scorpians we kept finding around the place! We found five in total- 3 inside the house and 2 outside. The location is extremely rural (and private!) so we were not completely surprised by these critters. These issues were minor compared to the quality of our stay, and we would definitely book again.

The house was great and the pool .
Check in time is just too late!! It takes about an hour to unpack and so you have a small window to enjoy the pool area which was one of your attractions... Before it’s time to cook dinner. Even 30 minutes earlier would help for your check in time. 4:00 maybe fine for Hotels but not when you have to get food,and all the luggage. When you have a family staying with over 9 people.

The accommodations were perfect for our group of ladies. We enjoyed the pool everyday and loved the large round table so we could play dice and cards in the evenings. The road coming to property could use a lot of attention, we were glad we all had high clearance vehicles.

Beautiful Property But Undrinkable Water
Property is beautiful, quiet, and accommodates many. Lots of sitting areas to relax both indoors and outdoors. That said, the experience at the level of money spent was disappointing due to the water situation. Both cold and hot water in the home was laden with H2S, causing a foul rotten egg odor when you tried to shower, wash dishes, brush your teeth, or try to drink. Our friend had stomach issues after drinking the water the first night after shortly arriving as we did not have bottled water at that point. I had called the rental company the day before we left and they indicated that there was not an issue currently even though there were multiple posts online and then what we found in the book at the property (note that we booked this back in Jan before these posts started about the water quality). Had SkyRun been up front about this issue at our arrival and provided us with bottled water when we walked in the door, I would not be as upset as I am about the experience. I did call the morning after we arrived and they did send a case of water over and a few gallon jugs and did offer to pay for any water we purchased. Like I shared, would love to come back again if the water is fixed and if SkyRun management learns from their mistake about hiding this from their clients who are paying a big bill to stay at these properties.
