Very Disappointing Breakfast
The Fox was a lovely place to stay while visiting family. The meal that we had on the first night was extremely good, and we had been told that the breakfast was going to be just as good. Unfortunately this was not the case. My husband had the full English, but the black sausage was so dried out that when he put his fork in it it broke into tiny pieces (inedible). The bacon wasn't much better. The hash brown and the mushrooms were ok. However, he was asked how he would like his egg, which did come sunny side up, but was rock hard! I had poached eggs with salmon and the poached eggs were just as solid. This was a great disappointment after being told how good it was going to be. Definitely not worth £25.

Fantastic place. Lucky enough to find The Fox after being let down by The Running Horse and were delighted. All the staff particularly Annie & Liz (at breakfast hope I got the right name) were absolutely brilliant. The room was superb - huge, every possible convenience & spotlessly clean. Both bedroom & bathroom beautifully decorated; great bath & shower. Sadly didn’t have dinner as had reservations elsewhere but judging by breakfast it would have been very good. Definitely returning and can’t recommend highly enough

I couldn’t praise this place enough. It’s such a stunning building, such warm and friendly staff, amazing food and the decor is to such high standards. The rooms are luxurious and spacious. I can’t wait to stay here again. Thoroughly recommend it here. Thank you to all the staff.

Absolutely perfect hotel. Staff inc Tina, Alex and Luke all great, room perfect - exceptionally clean with a comfy bed. Restaurant stunning, food great and good value - the Carrot Cake really something else! Also best breakfast I’ve had in a long while. Stunning location too

This is a gem! The room was uber comfortable and well equipped; towels and toiletries were great quality. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious at both dinner and breakfast. We will definitely return.

We loved the Fox.
The Fox team was exceptional, especially Tina. They all made sure we had everything we needed and enjoyed our visit. The restaurant staff did a very nice job with the food from breakfast to dinner. We liked the place so much we booked a second night.

A very comfortable room. The attractive bar and restaurant were welcoming, staffed by helpful and attentive people. The food was excellent. The hotel was well situated for visiting Winchester and the New Forest area.
