We had a lovely stay at the hotel in York unfortunately one of our party left something behind in the bedroom , it was a present from Lush for her granddaughter and the hotel have been less than helpful in trying to get the items back to her .

Everything staff, room, friendly. The only thing that spoilt is me & my sister had a meal and it was appalling… it was cold and definitely not worth the money.. the manager did apologise & offered us free desserts or drinks. Breakfast was good.

We had reservations for a room with either a king size bed or 2 twins. Originally, we were given a room with a double bed. I showed the front desk the discrepancy and was immediately given a room with a king size bed. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and a great view from our 8th-floor room. The breakfast buffet wasn't outstanding and I thought a little pricey. The only real negative was 2 false alarms that happened on the Sunday. The one in the morning we were told it was a false alarm just as we started walking down from the 8th floor, but the second one we weren't notified until we had made it all the way down to the 1st floor. Overall, a good location and I would probably go back again.
