We really loved our stay. It was a 5 minute walk to the outside gates of York. Easy and convenient to the town. The room was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious and offered a variety of options. We would stay there again

Wonderful accomodation, perfect location
We have just had a wonderful 2 night stay. Private carpark which is great as once parked up it is only 5/10 min walk into the centre of York, where there is plenty to see and do. We had a lovely room on the back of the house, quiet, overlooking the garden & carpark. Lots of lovely touches, complimentary sherry & delicious homemade shortbread biscuits in our room, milk in the fridge + a select of beverages which you can purchase. Just outside our room there was plenty of teas & coffee etc to replenish if needed. There is a wonderful choice for breakfast, which you select the night before & is cooked by Paul. Homemade Irish soda bread which was delicious+ homemade butter, jams & Marmalade. I purchased a jar of Fiona's marmalade & she very kindly gave me her recipe which I will be trying out myself. Fiona & Paul are fantastic hosts.Their house is beautifully furnished, with a lounge to sit in & an honestly bar. It is steeped in history which you can read about. Paul & Fiona have thought of everything there are recommendations of where to visit & places to eat. Nothing is too much trouble & I wouldn't hesitate in recommending their lovely house or staying there again. Thank you

Our stay at Monkbridge House was lovely. The room was beautiful and clean and the breakfast was exceptional. Lovely location, hosts were lovely and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Just exceptional. From the property, to the gardens and the owners. The breakfast is so good and the effort to have homemade items doesn’t go unnoticed. The rooms are excellent and plenty of room. The location for me is spot on too. Nice easy walk into York. Thank you for a great weekend.

A great place to stay in York!
It is well located, just a short walk to the York Walls and the York Minster. The building itself is well maintained, and surrounded by beautiful gardens. The host and hostess are very gracious and helpful in planning your visit to York. On top of all that, a delicious breakfast is provided every morning with 3 or 4 great choices on the menu. I would return there in a heartbeat.

We had a Triple room on the top floor, the room was huge, lovely Hypnos bed and views all around from the large window. The hosts were excellent and as we were there for a University visit they gave us the directions and printed off a map for us. The breakfast were ;lovely and overall, if our daughter goes to York Uni, we will be staying at this B&B when we travel up

Lovely hotel. Everywhere is nice and clean. The room was lovely. Free tea and coffee. Free homemade biscuit. Alcohol if you wanted to purchase. Nice garden at the bag that we sat in. Room was nice and the bed was really comfortable. There was a sitting room but we never used it. I had full English breakfast. It was huge and delicious. Great location. 20 mins walk to centre of York. We were going to The Barbican. It was half hour walk. Thanks for a lovely stay

Great location and only a short walk to the centre. The added homemade shortbread biscuits in the room was a lovely treat. You can really see how much love has gone into this property and how much they care for their guests with how helpful and attentive they are. The cooked breakfast was delicious as well as the homemade butter and croissants! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit York.

Fabulous stay.
What a charming building. Beautifully maintained and decorated. The room was lovely, with a nice big bed and plenty of space for 3 of us. Breakfast was lovely. Home-made breads and butter and jams available. Very well run and organised. Would definitely be my go-to choice for my next visit to York.

Lovely short stay at well positioned property. Rooms are spotlessly clean and great breakfast (cooked to order). Monkbridge also offers parking (pre-arrange with owners) which is big plus point in and around central York. It's only a 5 - 10 minute walk to city centre so ideally located. Would highly recommend and would have no hesitation in staying here again. Best wishes to owners on a well run establishment.
