I liked the location. The room was clean but in need of some tlc in certain areas. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very efficient and friendly without being intrusive.

Great location in town. Quiet room and had a very good nights sleep. My only issue is that when me and my 2 year old arrived, we were slightly early (30 mins). Asked if there was a possibility of an early checkin. The woman on reception was very rude & reluctantly let us in early. We were then given a room which was on 2 lifts & the last room on that floor, was quite a trek! Especially with a baby & luggage. Felt there must have been a room slightly nearer but felt was being punished for daring to check in early! Would stay again but next time on booking would request a room nearer to entrance

Great location, no laundry facilities
Radisson York is a great location: easy walk from train station and then short walk to Shambles and surrounds. Window that opened was a welcome surprise after staying in other stuffy hotels: fresh air was great!! The only downside is that the hotel advertises laundry facilities but they offer a laundry service instead, at about £35 per small bag. We booked specifically for the ability to keep on top of our own laundry. But not a deal breaker, just something to arrange for.

WELCOMING RECEPTIONISTS - I THINK NOT !!
The ladies on Reception are the most miserable, unhelpful people imaginable. Customers are a total distraction to their day. One young man stood out as being helpful and smiley. The rest should apply to be doctors receptionists.

We had an unfortunate fire alarm when at breakfast on Sunday 6th Oct. We were shown to the fire exit but the area immediately outside the fire exit was disgusting. Excrement up the wall immediately next to the fire door. Empty alcohol bottles on the steps out of the hotel. Appreciate this is probably a shared right of way outside the hotel but very clear that no inspections are taken out. It really let the place down!

My experience was marred by the poor lighting in the room not helped by the dark wall. The shower was also poorly designed and I didn't feel safe using it. There should be another grab rail to hold on to when under the showerhead. The view from our room was wonderful but we had paid extra for this.

Very good position from centre of York. Staff very Helpful. Really lovely room. Only downside, we were in Minster facing room 7th floor excellent views, but pubs across the river quite noisy. But overall excellent stay.
