I'm traveling Taiwan for business. I work out of my hotel while I'm working. With that, my needs may be different than yours.
This hotel has a lot of great things going for it. The staff was overly nice/pleasant. The restaurant was pretty good. The room was good. Ultimately, if you're in Yuanlin and need a spot to stay, it's a really good option.
The Good:
- 24hr ice cream and bao stand in the reception area. You could eat an entire bin of ice cream in one sitting, and the staff would let you. I would not recommend this, but it's an option.
- Dinner noodle option in reception area, if you do not want to go to the local restaurants.
- Staff is awesome.
- Room was clean.
- Plenty of toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, razor, condom (better safe than sorry, I guess), etc etc.
- Bed was pretty comfortable!
The Bad:
- The wifi was spotty and routinely dropped. Thankfully, you have 3-4 hotspots to jump on for each floor, but the wifi was pretty bad.
- Location is about 10 minute walk from TRA station, in the middle of a day market where vendors scream loudly on weekend mornings.
- One of the most expensive hotels I've stayed in while traveling Taiwan.
