Been here twice w family. Great place. Check if pool is still under construction! We were upset about that c bc Expedia didn’t communicate to us. They had a few small pools but the big one wasn’t open. The staff was nice and made it up to us.

I’ll say what was good only. Staff are very nice and pleasant to deal with. Beach is awesome, Raymond is the house evening entertainment, is great and imho underappreciated there. On weds the band Goliath plays and they rock! Leaving my review at that and that should speak volumes.

Our first trip to ABBWR was about 22 years ago. Since then, my husband and I have been back 13 times. This year, we invited 5 of our close friends and what a time we had! One couple described the trip as "encouraging and inspiring." The other couple is already searching for dates to bring back their own family. As always, the beauty, the new friends we met from "around the world" and the attentive staff are the memories saved and shared. In addition to the daily snorkeling, we all enjoyed the 11:00 am water aerobics, a great time to laugh with and laugh at each other. We were really impressed with talented and friendly Abel, the one-man band. Dining staff worked hard to make sure that our group of 7 left each meal happy and well fed.

The location in Akumal Bay was wonderful. The beach was beautiful and we saw turtles, rays, coral, and fish galore while snorkeling. The area was safe and convenient for walking. The property was beautiful and well laid out. We ate at several different restaurants with different cuisines. One item to kepe in mind, most of the restaurants are not air conditioned so we tried to sit by the windows or on patios as well as dress lightly. We relaxed on lounge chairs under a nice umbrella on the beach each day. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and made the stay delightful. The overall location was convenient for getting to/from TQO airport and to/from local attractions.

Amazing location! Hidden gem! Its more of an adults resort- you can bring kids but its focus is on natural beauty not kid stuff... Great food! Penthouse room was epic with private roof and hot tub! Plenty of leisure time options and food options as well. Staff is all very nice and welcoming, overall a great experience for my first time in Tulum. The staff and hospitality was amazing, loved all the restaurants onsite, and the yoga classes were led by knowledgeable instructors (definitely geared toward beginners since guests tend to not be experienced yogis). Unfortunately, the severe storm affected the building structure and made it so many of the hotel room ceilings had debris falling from it. I switched room 4x total until I got a room that was safe and intact.

Akumal Bay blew us away! The staff were all so accommodating and the spa was the best we’ve ever had. We loved how quiet and private it was and always felt very safe. Being able to snorkel right outside our hotel room was incredible as well. They were doing some repairs on the main pool, but we didn’t mind at all as the main attraction for us was the gorgeous beach.
