This is a really nice, relaxing spot on a peaceful, noisy creek with a lot of history! We enjoyed our quick stop here. You couldn't ask for better or more friendly hosts! You could tell they wanted their guests to enjoy their time here. We hope to come back soon! Thank you!

It's wonderful. The owners share the history of the area. It's peaceful. It's close to state parks. It has a great cabin next to the main for children or extra family. We loved it. Top stars.

We had an outstanding stay!
We have stayed at several different properties in the area over the past few years, but this was our favorite and we cannot wait to come back again. Valda and Chuck have done an amazing job of creating a beautiful and relaxing retreat by the creek. The cabin we stayed in was well-updated and comfortable while maintaining the charm of this historic dwelling. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay, and they were thoughtful and generous with the amenities to make our time there easier and more comfortable. When we arrived, Valda and Chuck greeted us personally and gave us the tour of the property along with the history there which was fascinating to me and added to our enjoyment of the area. When we were outside, we would often see them around the property and we appreciated them checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed spending the evenings on the attached deck with the wood-burning stove while listening to the relaxing sounds of the adjacent creek. We often travel with our two dogs who were also welcomed and had a blast exploring the property. We own some land several miles away, and intend to build and eventually move nearby in the future. Chuck and Valda were happy to talk with us about their experiences building this beautiful homestead and offer advice to us as we embark on a similar endeavor. Their kindness and the beauty of the property were powerful reminders of why we want to eventually relocate to this area.

Family mountain vacation
We vacation every winter in this general area and pick a new cabin each year to stay at. This cabin exceeded all expectations and will definitely be one we will stay at again. Chuck and Valda are the best host and make you feel right at home! Chuck taught us so much history about the property that we loved learning! The cabin and property are so beautiful, well kept, and the cabin is so warm and cozy! We loved celebrating Christmas at this beautiful cabin and property! Thank you for providing us with such a lovely place to spend our annual winter vacation.

Perfect cozy getaway!
We traveled from Indiana for the weekend to visit our friends in Johnson City & to see the Bristol night race. Upon arriving, Chuck & Valda gave us a warm welcome and told us all about the beautiful property. I can’t express how much we enjoyed the warm welcome they gave us. The cabin is cozy and pictures do NOT do it justice. The creek running behind the cabin with the windows open while drinking morning coffee was simply the best. There’s a nice state park nearby for hiking as well. It’s a great location and wonderful for guests of all ages. We can’t wait to stay again when we come back next year for the race with the kids!

Cabin with the creek was magical. The sound of the creek allows all of the stress to just melt away. Kids enjoyed staying in their own bunkhouse. Zip line was an excellent addition for the little ones. Rocky fork park was amazing. Kids played in river and enjoyed the hiking trails. A definite must go.

We had a great time staying here. It’s rustic and perfect for a relaxing vacation. Plenty of space on the comfortable patio where you can enjoy the sounds of the creek. Perfect Getaway
This property is everything you could want and everything you could need. They have thought of everything. When you get there they give you a tour of the place and the rich history. I went to sleep every night listening to the water next to the cabin and woke up to birds chirping in the morning. To say that this is the ideal Tennessee Mountain experience would be an understatement. I cannot say enough about this property!

Perfect Family Getaway
Over a 100 year old cabin with all the charm of days gone by but with all the modern conveniences, a loud beautiful mountain creek, a large screened porch, a flat area to play and separate sleeping quarters for the kids…this could possibly be the best family vacation spot ever! I have never stayed in a vacation rental where I felt like I had everything I had forgotten. Super convenient to Asheville (where we live) but it feels miles away. Valda and Chuck were very gracious hosts. We would definitely visit again!

I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of my stay. The charming cabin itself was spotless and incredibly comfortable, providing the perfect environment for a relaxing getaway. The hosts (Chuck and Valda) were incredibly friendly and hospitable, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We played in the backyard and the gorgeous creek running through it. We also had fun playing with the host's doggie! I highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and friendly place to stay!

A Thanksgiving to be Thankful
Chuck and Valda are top-notch hosts. The property was awesome and exactly what we were looking for to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. As Floridians, we wanted to have an old-fashion, cold weather Thanksgiving. We got the cooler weather and had a fire in the outside fireplace every night (with S'mores). Cozy cabin and bunk house in a beautiful rural location. Amazing property with hiking opportunities, which we took full advantage. Chuck and Valda have so much enthusiasm for the century-old property. They tell the history of the property with such passion. They have invested so much energy and time in renovating this cabin. We enjoyed visiting Johnson City and Asheville, hiking in the Lamar Alexander Rocky Fork State Park and ziplining at the Navitat Canopy Adventures. Lastly, the boys became proficient at the "Ring Game". What a great experience. Thank you, Chuck and Valda.
