My husband was in the hospital for surgery and we weren’t sure when he would be released to go home. When we first checked in, we asked the front desk if we could check out early if need be, the lady was rude and didn’t care what we had to say, it wasn’t there fault if we could stay or not. They were getting paid. When they finally did release my husband, we still had one more day until check out. we asked one more time since we just had one more day left if we could check out early and be refunded for that night. The lady at the front desk said that since you booked through a third party, that wasn’t their problem. We called Expedia and they were willing, they just needed the hotel’s permission. So our agent (Mario) called double tree for us, they still declined our request. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that they are a business and this is their job, but the fact that we #1 were talked to like a piece of garbage by staff and #2 not given any care or concern in our time of need is bull. I understand they have a policy but I feel like there could have been some exceptions made. We could have easily been given a refund for the ONE NIGHT. I’m very upset with this hotel. And we don’t plan on ever going back.
