The best thing about the Downright was the staff. Mr. Hamilton was great in checking us in, directing us to a place for a bbq linch and then letting us know when the room was ready. And when it was our bags we’re already in the room! We got a great dinner rec and just wonderful, friendly service all around. The beds are comfy but the rooms are a bit funky…not enough functional lighting and no drawers to put anything which makes for a messy and disorganized room for 4 nights. Bathroom also didn’t have good lighting and no place to hang towels.

Misrepresentation regarding newest hotel in the city, an old apartment converted into an hotel. Old fashioned style hotel. Very disappointed. The hotel management should have been more transparent with the hotel details. Will be more careful when booking to review offering.

seems like an older hotel property that has been rehabbed but still a great stay. clean and comfortanle. staff was super helpful and friendly, coffee shop in lobby was great, pool was nice (Megan who was working the swim club was amazing). overall good stay.

For what I paid for the room it was very underwhelming. First. upon walking in it was pitch dark so I have to fumble around looking for a light. The whole vibe was very dark and I had brought my own bottle of wine and there wasn't even a plastic cup in the place. I detest drinking wine out of a paper cup.

Paid an outrageous amount for a 1 night stay to begin with and the also charged $51.23 for incidentals. Don’t have a clue why we were barely in the room. I guess the use of toilet paper??

Doing the check-in I asked the person in the front desk for a tax exemption, I gave him the Texas Tax exemption document signed and my personal tax exemption issued by the US Department of State, being myself a foreign diplomat. He said it was ok and took the document. I’m checking my bank statstatement

Check in was amazing because they emailed me the day before and I checked in early and my room was ready early. But then the concierge made a point to give me a hard time about them not usually allowing early check in for people who booked through EXPEDIA with a bunch of attitude like it was his hotel? I paid $220 for my room. I guess I’m a cheapskate. I got an email directly from the hotel the day before to check in and did so. If you want to discriminate about who gets to do that, plan better or shut up about it. Also my TV was broken but by the time we figured it out and called, their “engineering department” was gone for the day.
