Good value, not the most luxurious but what can you expect for less than 100 eur!

feels like a low budget campground
The photo of the location is deceiving, looks like its in the country but its actually an industrial area. Not a nice area. Even tho the bed is comfortable, the pillows are horrible and they also need darkening curtains. Extra chairs are needed to sit on the balcony. We bought a portable fan to keep us cool at night. Needless to say we did not sleep well for 3 nights. The bedroom is clean, staff is ok and you can rent bikes. They allow trailers/caravans to park in their parking lot right next to the restaurant where breakfast is served, but the worst part is the campers empty their "toilet" waste in the hotel walking through the front lobby with the camper toilet. I would not stay there again. This is a very low budget hotel.

Nice location but
Hotel location was nice , near the river, however you don’t feel it.
Comfort and cleaning service were average.
Very nice people, but uncomfortable nights sleep. The room was very stuffy but way too noisy to keep the patio door open. It also seemed odd to have a patio with no seating. The sheets were very uncomfortable. They are the t-shirt material and covered in pills, so like sleeping on sandpaper. I prefer cotton sheets.
Good hotel in an industrial area of Bad Säckingen.
One night overstay was comfortable, bigger room than standard. Nespresso coffee machine a nice add. Breakfast included good, albeit not “charming”. This hotel is quite standard but does the job for a short overstay in the area.
nice room decor, very helpful reception, beautifully clean room, very convenient for cyclists. terrific value, breakfast included hand picked fruit, probably from the garden
Staff were friendly and, in the hotel itself, were happy to speak English. Meals are taken in a restaurant next door and in there they were pleasant enough but only spoke German. Thankfully, I have basic German so we survived! Food quality was good. Its on the edge of town so a good 30 minute walk into the town centre and the same again over the border to the Swiss town opposite. Hotel room was large and comfortable but the shower was in need of a modernisation and was a little grim. Overall, was good and I would be happy to stay again.
Hotel is OK
It is a typical German 2 star hotel
Decor is very plain but everything works
It is about 20-30 mins walk to the Old Wooden bridge , across the Rhine , which is amazing and well worth the walk . The Old town of Bad Sackingen is beautiful and quaint with loads of good Restaraunts.
Good clean hotel. Friendly staff. Our room smelled a bit like smoke (although the property is a non-smoking property) but staff gave us a new clean room without a problem. Great breakfast buffet. A bit far from the city center, but that's not what we were looking for.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
In need of an update
Hotel is what I would call "down market". Entrance and public areas look very dated. Restaurant and even breakfast is next door to hotel. I would not stay here again.
I used this hotel for an overnight stop. Room was clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, and it was quiet. I arrived late so didn't manage to try out the restaurant, but it appeared to serve good value German food. Breakfast was fine. Based on my experience I thought it was very good at the price.
We were visiting friends and this hotel was an excellent base for us. If/when we return to Bad Sackingen, we would definitely stay at the Hotel am Hochrhein again.
