This place is amazing! So much history, natural beauty and character! Here are a few important things to be considered:
Rooms -
1. We traveled with 2 kids. initially we booked the history part of the hotel, but be prepared - as historical and unique the rooms are, they are also very old, no fridge and no Ice machines in the hallways. The room is huge, but the shower is tiny. It was also very far away from the pool.
We asked to be transferred to the presidential wing, and the staff helped us promptly. We moved to a great room in that wing, right above the pool, which was super convenient.
The newer wing have large showers, great beds and a balcony. They do not have the same view, but do include a small fridge.
FOOD -
We ate at the Stickney, Rosebrook and breakfast at the main hall. The food was just ok. A bit too greasy and bland. Breakfast was great with lots of fresh choices.
They also have a cafe, that serves fresh pastries and coffee. A bit expensive, but good.
ACTIVITIES -
Our boys loved the arcade and the pool. We enjoyed the morning tour of the hotel and the ice cream by the pool during family hour, but out favorite activity by far, was to sit by the fire pit in the evening and watch the amazing view of the white mountains as the sun sets.
Overall this was an amazing experience we will cherish for a long time. The views are spectacular and the hotel is amazing. All the staff was kind, professional and helpful.
