Lakefront - Premier Views! Look no further, we have your Rustic Colorado Mountain Cabin waiting for you! Wooden1-Bedroom Cabin crafted in the '70s and upgraded each season.

Our Shanty Chic on the Lake is loaded with French Farmhouse design and beautiful natural landscaping. The cabin is 500 square feet and all on one floor and easy to move around in. We have two independent cabins next to one another in a friendly neighborhood that offers secluded lakefront access to the shoreline. Nothing but trees and a 100' natural, deer trail (which can be steep at points) down to your private spot on the lake where you can swim, fish, and enjoy! Sunny, gourmet kitchen stocked with just about everything you will need!

The bedroom offers a new medium firm queen mattress and charming décor. The living room views the lake where you can stay tuned with a flat screen TV and watch Netflix and enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi. There is a full bathroom stocked with towels and some toiletries, and a combined kitchen dinning room stocked with everything need to fancy your culinary delights!
The glass door opens to a wood deck that boasts gorgeous views of the lake.

Enjoy mornings on the deck with coffee and breakfast on the picnic table, and in the evenings dine fresco-style with the charcoal BBQ, Savor the time!

Please note that smoking is not permitted inside the cabin, but we do provide a designated smoking bin on the patio for ashes and cigarette butts. Please shut the door so the smoke does not enter the cabin, and thank you!

We’re pet-friendly! One to two dogs are welcome for a $50 fee, but please ensure they are crated if left alone in the cabin—check our pet policy for details.

Situated in a friendly neighborhood, our two independent cabins share secluded access to the shoreline. A 100-foot natural deer trail (which can be steep) leads you to your private swimming and fishing spot. Enjoy shared amenities, including a 3-person rowboat, a stand-up paddleboard (SUP), fishing poles, and a tackle box to enhance your lake experience.

Safety is paramount, so please use the outdoor gear at your own risk and ensure life jackets are worn when enjoying the lake. For fishing licenses and marina information, visit: https://vallecitolakemarina.net.

Due to the tree cover, trash trucks cannot access individual cabins, so guests are responsible for taking their trash to the dumpsters located on the main road.
To ensure you have the best experience, I will meet you upon arrival to provide information about the cabin and neighborhood.

One week before your stay, I will start communication on your upcoming trip. As your dedicated host and concierge, I am available to answer any questions or recommendations in the area so this can truly be a memorable trip.
I have a guest book in each cabin with detailed information of the cabin, area, hikes, restaurants and activities. We can also arrange to meet at the cabin so I can better understand your needs, goals, and desires, allowing me to tailor your experience to perfection!
My top priority is to provide you with a comfortable cabin, stocked with just about everything you'll need, while you explore all that Vallecito Lake and the surrounding areas have to offer.

Classic Cabin Experience

Best Cabin on Earth

We sat for two weeks looking at the lake. That's all we did. We watched the water shimmer and the sun's light blanket the south bank. That's all we did. It was great. We became grateful to all beings, especially to our wonderful host.

Beautiful, peaceful lakefront cabin

My husband and I stayed in the smaller cabin. The setting is beautiful. The cabin is cozy, comfortable and well stocked. Several good hikes in the area. Highly recommend the restaurant at the Country Store. We were sorry we only had a chance to eat there once. Rene, our host was very responsive and had some great recommendations. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to go back next year.

front of cabin is a deck with impressionist view of V Lake which can be watched all times of day, dawn to dusk. Inside kitchen with everything even micwave and great dining table I used to make art collage. Slept deep on tempurpedic. Great shower, great TV _ HBO 80s channel got me one afternoon after canoeing. The view from the deck was absolutely stunning. We were disappointed that there wasn’t a walking trail around the lake (not the owner’s fault) and we weren’t aware until we got there that we had to take our trash offsite for disposal. However our time in the cabin was very relaxing and we enjoyed being able to have our dog with us on vacation.

A great little cabin on the lake. Nice to have access to the lakefront and a kayak to use on the lake. We enjoyed our restful stay. The cabin is shanty chic and could use a little TLC but nothing that impaired our stay.

A great stay! Everything we needed or would have liked was readily available: from pots pans/ dishes for eating to a 60 second walk for fishing. Durango, where there are plenty of options for shopping and site-seeing, is just a 30 minute drive. We took a train from their to Silverton. That was also an incredible, scenic experience.
