We specifically chose this hotel because we wanted to stay in a hotel with a hot tub. The hot tub was not working and we found out that it had been down for several days. We were not notified of this problem in advance or at check in and it really put a damper on our stay to discover that it was broken when we tried to use it on our first evening there. We were very disappointed in the fact that this advertised amenity was actually not available and were told by someone on the property that they often have problems with this amenity, but we weren’t warned about this issue.

After our first night we were woken up at 6am to construction going on outside to our side of the hotel. I called the front desk asking to get a new room as we were on vacation and did not want to wake up at 6am to power tools and loud clanging. The front desk told me the construction is going on only on the third floor so we should not be able to hear it. I had to reiterate to several workers, even the manager Mandy, that there was a crane outside with workers throwing trash into a metal bucket that could be heard from outside. We were then told there was nothing that could be done and lied to that there were no other rooms available. After speaking with them I checked their website and there were 10 rooms on the other side of the hotel. All we wanted was our room to be moved so we didn’t have to hear construction for over 10 hours. Also upon arrival, our room did not have hand soap, the thermostat did not function, and the vent was extremely loud. We tried addressing these issues several times only to have the hand soap refilled. Call ahead to make sure construction isn't going on and that the room has basic amenities you are paying for.

For the money, it was disappointing to get a room facing the parking lot. I didn't realize that when I booked it. The photo looked so much more inviting. No coffee maker in the room. Another unexpected - first time I have stayed somewhere that did have that convenience. Finally, the shower was set up for wheelchair access. It is wonderful for someone who might need that, but the shower did not have that luxurious look that I was expecting. Very disappointed - and it was no fault of the hotel. I actually think next time I will book directly with the hotels so I will have no surprises like these.
