First, I want to say that I am not a complainer, nor did I have high expectations - this stay was the worst experience I’ve had in about 30 years; this is why:
My check in went fine for a Friday afternoon. A minor surprise, they charged $10 to park in their parking lot, on top of the already inflated room rate. The room was cleaned with something that smelled pretty terrible, it made my stomach turn a little. It was maybe pine-sol mixed with another cleaner; not good - and I don’t mind pine-sol. The carpet had some pretty big stains all over; definitely wouldn’t walk without shoes - I knew it wasn’t the Hilton. Room appeared ok, we had to leave quickly. We returned late evening, turned down the bedding. It was shadowed, almost made me think it wasn’t clean, but I shook it off and had to deal with it. I laid on the pillow and shifted it slightly, and a bug crawled out from under the pillow - right next to my face!!!!! It was very light colored, possibly a centipede or silverfish, about the length of my thumb nail. I killed it and immediately looked around for more, which I found on the floor next to the bed, against the wall…I barely slept. Early morning, we went downstairs for coffee, a man in line asked what floor we were staying on (3rd floor-302). He asked if we had trouble with bugs? He was on the bottom floor and apparently had a bigger bug issue that night! Coffee was horrendous. Checking out, she didn’t care, AT ALL. Never again, not there. Choose wisely
