It is a shame that Embassy Suites is not what it used to be. We were in town for a wedding celebration with my nephew and stayed 4 nights. When we checked in the young man at the counter seemed to be all alone at the hotel. Despite there being a long line, he did a great job, was very courteous and made the check-in process smooth.
However, the room was another story. Our room was dated, with furniture in bad shape, rips in the couch arms and stains on the furniture. Also hair in the shower drain that had to be cleaned out before we could use it. The extra blanket in the room was filthy and when we requested another it took about an hour to get it. The coffee was not replenished in the room each day either and we had to request that too.
Embassy suites used to be known for their included hot breakfast and happy-hour, but both are disappointing now. The breakfast consisted of watery oatmeal, runny eggs, dried up chicken sausage and tasteless breakfast potatoes. I remember them used to having french toast, bacon, regular sausage and great eggs. They did have an omelet station, but the line was so long because it was the only decent thing.
The happy hour used to include a cocktail/wine or beer along with really great snacks. Now there is no complimentary drink and a bowl of goldfish and pretzels.
Only 2 of the 3 elevators were working and if you didn't get in quick the doors would close on you.
Very disappointed in what used to be a great hotel chain.
