incredibly good location and very nice property with many things around. the pool is small but the beach is just there!!unfortunately it is the property in the area with less chairs fos clients so impossible to book the six they have except when you start queing before 7 am rooms are small but this you know when you book the surprise was the size of the baths, incredibly small. honestly many people will have serious issues with that toilet!! difficult to fit it. The hotel area was so incredibly noisy we could not sleep at all. On top of that we found out our room was located over the area the hotel holds the wedding receptions so there was no peace for the entire 7 day trip. We were exhausted the entire time. Since we went there for work it was absolutely horrible!! Furthermore, our room was right next to an elevator and so we heard the dinging all night long as well.

Construction while staying there from 8:00am-5:00pm. Was there for 6 days and had $450 is resort fee’s. I heard they were grateful for having people vacation there in (Honolulu) but I’m guessing it was maybe Maui. I didn’t get the impression anyone was grateful for us being there.

While the hotel is beautiful and historic, I thought the “upgrade” we received upon check-in would have been a true upgrade, but instead the bathroom is smaller and we couldn’t sleep the entire stay because of the street noise and front of the hotel throughout the day and night. We also didn’t know there would be live music every night and we are early sleepers. Though that wasn’t what kept us up, it was all the street noise, screams, trucks and everything else on the main road and we could hear everything every hour. Since we had so many early morning day tours booked everyday, we couldn’t imagine how we could have changed rooms after the first night. I wouldn’t stay in the historic wing again unless it faced the ocean side. This was our first trip to Hawaii and we had hoped for a better room experience.

We loved the historic ambiance and beauty of this hotel. We paid extra to have an oceanfront room with a balcony and it was worth it. We felt like we were right on top of the beach, which was beautiful and so easy to access. The location near shopping and great restaurants was wonderful and the food at the hotel was excellent. Staff at the hotel so friendly and helpful too.

I was informed of the guest room remodel commencing in early October 2024 only after I booked my nonrefundable stay at Moana Surfrider. There was construction noise by day. There was sound transfer of auto-door closers slamming shut, voices in adjacent rooms, babies crying across the hall, and foot traffic above by night. The hotel room was mediocre with dated finishes and grime throughout the bathroom. The mini-fridge either froze my dairy products or spoiled them for not functioning properly.

Our room, ocean view, the staff and everything else was incredible. The only thing was not being able to use the balcony (which we were made aware of when booking). Even still, the Moana Surfrider is my favorite hotel in Waikiki.

Amazing hotel! We were able to stay in the banyan wing in a room overlooking the courtyard. Absolutely the way to go. Most convenient is the taxis waiting at the entrance, allowing older visitors to get around easily. Hope to come back and stay here again.

Beautiful building located in the heart of Waikiki. Reasonably priced compared to other accommodation in the area. Balcony blocked off due to accident prior to our stay. Bathroom old and drain blocked. I really enjoyed the pool and beach bar area.

It is such a shame the attention to detail of such a beautiful property is not there. Hard to get a seat anywhere, forget trying to get in the pool, limited services for the resort fee, half the staff are friendly the others nonchalant including porters, plastic college bar cups.. lacks class. Crowd is like going to Disneyland on a public holiday.
