We had a lovely stay at The Sapphire! As others have noted, it is a renovated motel that embraces the retro vibe, but has a modern feel. The people who work there are lovely and helpful. The rooms are super spacious and quite comfortable. Parking is easy, and the place is well located for folks who don't mind a little bit of walking (or just driving). The food truck park across the street is great! To be clear before we get to the rest of the review: we'd absolutely stay here again. I'd just plan around the minor issues I list below next time!
The only reasons I haven't given The Sapphire 5 stars are:
1. Poor noise insulation. I was stoked to book a single-story motel, because my largest hotel annoyance is people above me making a ton of noise. So I was dismayed that our neighbors walking around in their room sounded like I was staying next to a reasonably-sized herd of elephants. It shook our room and woke us both well before our 7:30 a.m. alarm went off both nights we stayed there :(
2. Not amazing wifi. I know: vacation. But we are able to get away in part because of remote work. I was unable to successfully hold a zoom meeting. Knowing what I know now, next time, I'll work in a coffee shop.
3. Drainage. Both the sinks and the shower had poor drainage. Again: no big deal. We came here after camping and wanted to wash some of our cookware; next time I just won't plan to do that!
But we really did have a lovely stay, and absolutely would return.
