Holidays in Bronte Park

Yep. Midlands is kinda off the beaten track. But hey, who wants to do the touristy thing anyway? Besides, there's stacks to explore in this gorgeous region (not least of all its postcard-perfect rural landscapes, lakes and mountains). Base yourself in Bronte Park and you can see it all from there.

It's situated 790 kilometres to the south of the capital of Australia, Canberra.

Put aside some time to witness a sensational sunset at Beaches, 95 kilometres to the west.

Mother Nature's handiwork can be seen in many places around Bronte Park. Just 50 kilometres away, Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park is a terrific place to start. Lake St Clair Pumphouse sits 20 kilometres away and is another favourite spot to enjoy some peace and quiet.

If your journey happens to coincide with a decent dump of snow, you'll see many winter sports enthusiasts packing up their cars and heading over to Mount Mawson.

Derwent Bridge, 17 kilometres to the west, is home to The Wall in the Wilderness and Lake St. Clair. Why not make your way there and check out these excellent attractions? Or, go to Shannon, 25 kilometres to the east of Bronte Park, for Five Mile Pinnacles Conservation Area and The Steppes State Reserve.

Deloraine is located 65 kilometres from Bronte Park and is an exciting part of the region. Surrounding attractions include the Deloraine and Districts Folk Museum, the Three Willows Vineyard and Great Western Tiers Visitor Centre. Need more? St. Marks Church and the Yarns Artwork in Silk are also within reach.

If you're keen for something a bit more energetic, you could take a look at the local mountain climbing options. Or perhaps hiking is more your thing? Whichever you decide, you're certain to have a great time.

If you're feeling a little frayed around the edges, take the chance to go camping. If it's not really to your liking, wildlife watching might be more relaxing.

It may be time to go, but your trip doesn't end here. Your family and friends will be asking to see pictures of the stunning Midlands region for weeks to come!
