Obstructed Mountain View, Shabbily Maintained

This home and it's best feature, The View, suffer from months/years of neglect. Trees have been allowed to completely blot out the long range mountain views which are the only reason one would want to rent a home at 4,000 ft elevation. The rest of the home equally disappoints - broken/missing and non-functioning blinds, broken and missing window screens that prevent you from airing out the home thoroughly which is extremely important given the powerful odor of mold and mouse urine emanating from the lower level. Had we need of the two lower bedrooms (we only had two people, so could sleep in ground floor master), we would have never remained in the home as the smell is so overwhelming to be intolerable. Beer cans strewn around the upper deck and laying in the weeds over the rail from the hot tub greeted our arrival along with an uncleaned portable charcoal grill chockfull of burned briquets sitting in the middle of the picnic table on the deck. The deck is small and mostly covered by an overhanging maple tree and gate and side rail to the stairs leading down the side of the home are in disrepair as to be visibly unsafe. Tree saplings are growing out of the gutters and the exterior wood is riddled with carpenter bee damage and the home should have been painted years ago. It was our 12th rental in the Bryson City area in the last 10 years, and it is my FIRST negative review. No reply from management to email or phone complaints!!!!!

Cute and great cabin. Love the privacy. We had a little issue with no hot water but one of our friend was an expert in that field so it was a quick fix for us. Thank you!

Clean with plenty of room. The road up was very steep but doable. The views were beautiful. Hot tub was great. The lower level was a little musty smelling. Overall a great place to stay.

We had a blast

The place is on top of a mountain/hill. It gives you a felling of a log house. The main living area was very smaller than what pics showed, but there was another living area in the basement, so we sent all the kids there to play. Lots of board games. Very close to Bryson City and Cherokee. It was well stocked but we ended up taking everything with us, so we did not use any consumables. Overall, we would definitely return in a few years.

Perfect Getaway

The cabin was perfect. It was very clean and cozy. We arrived late at night and it was very cold outside so it took a long time to get the place heated up because they keep the temperature at 55 in the winter. Other than that we enjoyed our stay very much . It’s close enough to town even though we were at the top of a winding road. Instructions were perfect on how to get there .

Labor Day Guys Trip

Nice location and nice cabin. We found trash in one of the bedrooms. We found beer cans around the jacuzzi. The grass around the fire pit and the cabin was over grown. The property needs some TLC.

Great stay

The cabin was even better in person and the views were amazing. We had bad weather move in and we had two different people with the rental company call to alert us and give us information. Hands down the best vacation rental experience I’ve ever experienced.

Amazing views but needs TLC

Just as the listing states the views are amazing! It is also located in a gated community which made me feel safe. It is very private and secluded. The cabin is nice but has clearly been neglected for many years. Two months before our arrival we saw reviews about how there were nails sticking out of the stairs and that the fireplace wasn't working. We contacted the rental agency to ask if these things had been remedied. They assured us that the nails had been hammered and the fireplace worked because they clean them and turn them on each November. (Our stay was in December). When we arrived at the cabin the electric fireplace was not working. There isn't even a log attached to the gas line inside. The propane tank outside was capped off so even if there was a log in it there is no way it could be used. We called the manager and they said they would get in touch with someone and we never heard back from them. The cabin also advertised there is satellite TV, but two of the three TVs had no satellite connection. We had to stream from our phones. The issues we encountered seem easy enough to fix and with some TLC this cabin can be so much more. For the price you pay to rent a place like this you have higher expectations of what it should be. Would consider staying again if repairs are made.

Great cabin for 2 families. needs lots of maintence

This cabin had a great view and plenty of room on 3 floors. The rooms were all good size and the layout of the basement was nice. The home needed tons of maintence however. The fireplace logs were missing although it advertised fireplace. There is water coming in through the siding because the gutters are full, so full that weeds are growing from them. one gutter downspout was falling off. The carpet in the basement needs to be replaced. musty in basement due to water intruding in home. the handle on the back door kept falling off. The lights in the upstairs bathroom did not work. had to use a flashlight. location was great to bryson city. roads were steep, but that's what you get when you go for high elevation breath taking views. would love to go back if they put some money into this cabin and make it great again.

Super Peaceful Location and A Beautiful View

Excellent view! Beautiful cabin! The trek up and down the mountain is pretty tough on a vehicle, but totally worth it for the seclusion and the view. Some TLC (such as interior web/insect remediation, minor maintenance issues, i.e. back door handle and curtain rods, nails backing out in the staircase) would help this cabin go a long, long way in a 5 star guest experience. Some additional Tupperware would be a nice addition in stocking the kitchen.
