Walked past the hotel severaltines not realising i had arrived. No signage outside even though it has a beautiful front entrance. Reception staff helpful. Had problem with bathroom drainage. Was very slow to drain away. Gave us a new room and was very spacious. However same problem in this room so concluded that every bathroom had same problem. Drainage problem. After midnight on new years day there was a massive problem with getting into our room. key cards wouldnt work. Not just mine but seemed to be everones key cards didnt work. Waited approx an hour to get into room using master key which one of reception used. I would assume he let everyone else into their rooms. Curtains hanging off rail looked to be unhooked.switch button on lift missing. Not fixed while i stayed. Whilst having breakfast on first day i observed a waiter using his vape(electronic smoking device) in the kitchen near the pass, in my 45 years of being a chef i was pretty much disgusted with what i saw. I did inform the reception. Poor quality towels looked to be very old and worn. Housekeeper were hit and miss with towels and coffee/tea/hot chocolate sugar etc... had to call down a couple of day.to get them replenished. I would like to think that what ever was offered on day one is also offered on the last day and any day Inbetween. It seems ok to charge vastly different prices for days staying so surely the service should be at least as good as day one. Breakfast was very good and was alot of choice.
