Great mountain getaway
Overall this rental was incredible. Great location. Close to the hot springs but definitely secluded. The layout is incredible and was able to sleep 9 adults, 2 teenagers, a child and 2 dogs comfortably. Having only 2 bathrooms we were concerned about this but it worked out well. 6 min drive to the hot springs so also incredible! We were told there were not a lot of pots and pans but there actually was a sufficient amount. There were plenty of towels and linens. The dining room was awesome for dinners. The neighbors were great. Being able to also have dogs was a big plus! The house had radiant floors and was comfortable the whole time. Washer and dryer were very handy with our bigger group! For the things that were challenges, they are follows. There is no WIFI. I don’t understand why this would not be offered in a property like this especially for the amount of money you pay per night and in the middle of no where. Also the property kitchen sink had no batteries for it to operate correctly. We were able to make it work but again not sure why you wouldn’t keep AA batteries on hand in case they went out. It was obvious the property manager didn’t know the house well or had been there to give accurate accounts of items. The property listed a lock box which there wasn’t.

Beautiful Clean Home, Amenities Not as Advertised
The home is beautiful and somehow smells wonderful in every room we were in. Initial check in procedure was not particularly smooth. The management company has a representative here in Buena Vista who is supposed to give me the lockbox code. I called before we left Denver and called a few more times during our 2 1/2 hour trip out. Also called the management company and asked them to try to get a hold of the representative . Finally we stopped in Johnson’s Corner outside Buena Vista and tried one more time. Luckily she called me back and told me that there was no lockbox and had to meet me with a key. They were able to drive over within about 10 minutes so I did not have to wait long but it did cause me some anxiety wondering if I was going to have to break into the house or find another place to stay. A lock box is so easy so I don’t know why they don’t have one. Also unfortunately there was no Internet as advertised, there was one single TV in the house, but no cable or anything to attach to it. Not even a DVD player. We have stayed in places without television or Internet but we plan accordingly. Unfortunately my kids had some homework to do on their little school computers and were not able to do it. We Ended up capping off the night gathered around a smart phone watching a show. It will undoubtedly create a humorous memory down the road but I would adjust the listing. All in all though the trip was good .
