Posada Del Mar did not disappoint. Good price for high season and a great location! Our room lock did break at one point but the staff was very helpful in getting it fixed!

The toilets are made to not allow for flushing toilet paper, making you use a bun without a lid instead in an unventilated washroom, and the sewage pipes are super weak so you can smell strong sewage smells seeping through the ground everywhere. The air from the air conditioners smell like mold and sewage as well.

My experience was very poor, this hotel needs to be remodeled. The balcony was covered with pigeons poop, these pigeons were making awful noses starting early morning until late night. I stayed there for 13 nights and it was a horrible experience. I visit Isla mujeres twice a year and so far stayed in many different hotels. I have never experienced anything similar. Staff didn’t care as well as management. I will never return there again and will not recommend it to anyone. Hotel is dirty, old, plumbing is not working properly and pigeons poop is all over the place. Health Department shouldn’t let them operate in this anti-sanitary condición. Very bad experience for last 7 years on Isla Mujeres.

My room was pouring water from the roof around the air conditioning unit upon arrival to the hotel. The shower head was broken and sprayed water all over the bathroom and in the actual room itself since there was an open wall separating the two with a clear piece of glass for all to see you showering. The sheets and curtains smelled like mildew. I was told that maintenance “fixed” the issues but they never came because they exact damaged shower head was still installed. We finally got a room change but only after complaining every time we walked past the front desk. After 2 full days of complaining every time we walked past the front desk, we finally got a different room. Now I realize this isn’t the Ritz Carlton but I feel like a functioning shower and room that doesn’t leak when it’s raining or when the ac is running isn’t too much to ask for. I wouldn’t stay here again for free. Not all budget hotels are created equal and this one hopefully has none that are similar.

The property was out of date. The beds were at the end of their life the first room that we got put into had a back door to a random unusable area. There was no handle on the door just a tiny little latch, Anybody could hip check the door and it would pop open. Water was pooring off the roof onto our patio then into our room they were very understanding and moved us. Thinking this has happened before as it smelled moldy mildew smell But the next room Beds were just as bad but no water coming in. Staff was amazing but definitely need new beds and reno I won’t be staying here again

This has to be one of the loudest hotels I've ever stayed in you can hear people put there toilet seat down and doors are always slamming. Hotel workers turn there staff radios on full blast and you can hear that all day. The sheets were stained red in spots and brown in others. the windows didn't have a good seal and you could hear the wind howling through them into the room.

Good location
We were probably given an older room with an entrance door that didn’t have a secure lock on the door along with a gap at the bottom and top. We asked for a face cloth more than once and never received one. Staff was friendly, room was very clean and satisfactory however the pillows were extremely hard which made sleeping difficult.

I like the location of this property , but it does need a major overhaul . They are working on some things but it needs major work and when the workers are working they should clean up the mess daily !

Property and rooms were not as advertised. Amenities were not as advertised. Construction was going on that blocked part of the entrance. Bar area was closed and poolside chairs were falling apart. Room had stains on the floors, walls and couch. Restroom toilet broke twice in the 12 hours we stayed before cancelling our stay.
