Worth a stay
Despite a bit of a problem finding the car park because of the redevelopment, the staff were extremely helpful in guiding me. Excellent fish and chips in the bar. Well done.

Good city location
You could not have a better location the hotel is right in the city centre sq..I have stayed twice its ok but srarting to look a bit tired but very clean. The breakfast was really good would stay again.

The hotel is fine if a little bit dated but the road works outside make access awkward and they seem to be going on for ages. There is a charm in the elegant staircases and impressive building but the approach and entrance are disappointing. It was absolutely fine for a short stayover in Carlisle.

Nice hotel but dated and tired looking room
Nice hotel but room was a little tired and dated. Traditional decor. Room was very small and bed was not particularly comfortable. Annoyingly I could hear the guest in the room next door who made a few phone calls, the noise insulation between the rooms was very poor. Breakfast was good though with a decent choice of items.

A TV radio alarm went off 6am that I hadn't set. I explained to the receptionist in the morning and asked them to send me an email after they'd investigated. They didn't. When I chased it up, they confirmed the problem, but just apologised without any mitigation.

Check in was quick and efficient, I managed to get a parking space in the hotel car park, although there are not many overall, the room was clean and tidy with lots of storage space and plenty hangers for clothing, the bathroom was very clean and well stocked. I slept well as it was very quiet. I will definitely be staying again.
