This is a basic place in a basic area that is affordable if that is what you are looking for.
If you, or your mate are accustomed to upper end living then don't bother. If you want to stay in a basic place that is secure, then this is perfect.
The location is easy to get to by any bus that says "BOSQUE" at 2.300 COP (Vs Taxi at 15.000 COP). To get to the beach where everyone local goes to, and quite a few tourists then the bus says B/GRANDE and is the same. Taxis going to the beach pay a toll, so it is 20.000 COP.
The staff is perfect, friendly and helpful. The room is clean, and private room at $14. GA guest overnight is only 10.000 COP more.
The water is NOT hot, but in summer months it is not cold either, but makes me feel like I am back in the Infantry during het Vietnam era!
There are a few basic restaurants just around the corner that you can eat at for 7.000 to 10.000 COP and are a filling meal.
I feel safe and secure here and spent ten days with no problems. The area is the industrial zone and is very safe in the days. You can NOT walk around very late at night, according to every local I have spoken to. I do see other non-locals (Gringos) in the area during the days. There are some clubs close by via taxi, but don't walk it.
A 20 minute taxi ride is only $6, so no reason to risk anything for pocket change.
Since you are away from town, about 15 to 20 minutes, brush up on your Spanish or you may have some problems. This is a working-class neighborhood (poor).
