Hotel is in great location. Close enough to the center and the Market but far enough from the noises. Hotel is nice and historic. Not giving it a 5 star because bathrooms are tiny and parking is either public parking or valet which is very expensive understaffed, car drop off and pick up is not easy since it’s on the main road.

The Francis Marion was a great three night stay. Easy to walk to Charleston Market, Rainbow Row, The Battery, Fort Sumpter ferry. Staff, which includes the Swampfox, were professional, helpful, and friendly. Yes luck of the draw had some electrical repairs going on for the entire building but only affected an hour or so of our stay. With the kids freshly back to The College of Charleston (right down the street), it would have been nice for the bar to be open til midnight vs 11 to avoid local bars once the kids get going but that's a 40 opinion. ;) The kids are just being kids. Actually very well behaved.

I ate lunch there was fantastic!! Dinner at the restaurant got delivered to our room and it had a hair in it We called the front desk amd nothing really came of it We order breakfast at 8:30 a.m delivery to the. Room and they dropped it off with no silverware And condiments were missing

Very traditional and beautiful hotel, situated in the heart of downtown Charleston. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms and corridors. The only issue was that the beds were narrow and the bathroom was tight. Get a good view of the harbor from higher floors.
