The property was nice, especially for an old hotel. It had all of the amenities we needed. Because at one point it was two rooms that had been remodeled into one, we had plenty of space to move around. Although the bathrooms were both small, we managed just fine.
There were two valets that were extremely nice and kind. However, both the original girl that greeted us at the front desk and the woman that stood at the valet stand both days were unfriendly and rude. This was specifically to us, as we witnessed them being kind and warm to others. It was very odd. The woman behind the front desk was exceptionally rude. After standing at the valet for over ten minutes with no one there, I went in to greet her and ask where I should go for parking/check-in because it was a pretty confusing process to this point, and she just blinked and stared at me. Then she didn’t answer my questions or even greet me but just said, “You get a text?” I had no clue what she was talking about, asked for clarification and she just sighed at me (audibly) and said, “You need to be by the valet.” I asked if it was by the front because no one was there and she only pointed at the front while staring at me. I chalked the valet woman up to probably just having a rough existence in the Charleston heat. I’d be a bit crabby too I suppose.
