Breakfast was good and the staff polite and helpful. The hotel is well located. The Holiday Inn room booking process is poor. A standard room means allocation of either twin or double on arrival, as I discovered on arrival to my room and with no option to change or cancel. Specifically requested a double but allocated a twin for three nights. Chester has many hotels and had I realised this was likely, I would have booked elsewhere. I stay in hotels 45 nights for year and have done for 35 years or so. This is the first time this has happened to me.

Great place to stay for a short break in Chester, parking which is always a problem for city stays is right outside for £10.Just a short walk up to the city centre. Hotel had everything we needed inc free wi-fi and breakfast included, will be staying again now we've found it

Very busy road outside, walls were too thin as could hear next room snoring. Would ask for a room away from main road. Breakfast is good, parking costs £10 per night. Good location to city centre.

Location and Breakfast.
Great hotel in a very good location for Chester city centre. We got a great deal through Hotels.com. Parking is not free anymore £10 a night paid to the Racecourse. Very helpful staff and very nice breakfast.

Check in was disappointing. The receptionist was lovely however my booking wasn’t showing from Hotels.com. She sorted it for us but not a smooth check in. Rest of stay was fine

The room was ok. In need of a bit of a makeover. Carpet stained in places. Toilet seat seemed to small for toilet and moved when you sat on it. Shower was good. Breakfast available and lots of choice. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Great for an overnight stay - room clean if a little tired. Convenient location 10 mins walk from town, lovely breakfast. Secure parking. Amazing value with Tesco vouchers!

Exceptionally clean room
There was a frequent knocking sound, which I think was something to do with the tank that fed the plumbing system, linked to people flushing the toilet I think, seemed go quieter when I shut the bathroom door. The was exceptionally clean and in very good condition. Some biscuits with the brewing up stuff would have been nice.

Great stay
This was my 2nd stay at this hotel. The location is very good. Staff extremely friendly. Good parking though they’ve just introduced a parking charge of £10 per night. Good breakfast included in the stay as well as hot drinks available all day. I’d definitely stay here again.
