Chose this as a nights stop over when traveling home from a holiday in Cornwall. We chose to come this way back as we were fed up of sitting in the none stop stop start qué we were in on the M5. Lesson learned don't travel on a Friday to Cornwall or back to Stafford on the M5. The staff here are really pleasant and helpful we also liked the fact you get a 10%discount on food and drink when eating there. There is a night club on site we never new about but as our room was well away from the DJ and music which goes on late on a weekend we didn't here a thing so really good. The food is excellent and the breakfast choice is good and filling as well. İt's quite a large Pub/Hotel so there is plenty of space for everyone, all in all we had a great night's stay here and will stay again when in the area or when the M5 motorway is at a standstill. We really liked the place and it's so handy for the centre of town and shops and the fact you can park at the rear of the hotel is also a bonus, just a brilliant place to stay.
Umpteenth stay at the Kings & it seems to get better every time
Staff are off the scale of helpful, Manager first class
Food was lovely as I ate at the Kings last night & the breakfast was its usual terrific
The atmosphere was young and buzzy, not the place for a quiet weekend , as disco Friday and Saturday until 3.00am and live band Sunday evening until 11.00pm !!
Unfortunately plug in bathroom sink did not work, and the pillows and duvet were of poor quality. No storage or hanging facilities in room, so fortunate we were only staying one night.
The management at this property is fantastic! The manager, Gemma, is a star!

The property is a very old coaching inn. It was spotlessly clean but the shower was faulty and we were given 1 bath towel for 2 people. We felt the plinth for the shower stuck out dangerously for when using the bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast. Good value for money.
Firstly we couldn't find the carpark. Unless you know where you are going it is extremely difficult to find as it is not signposted.
When we checked in we found out that there is a nightclub in the pub below between 10pm-3am on a Friday & Saturday night. There was nothing in the description that said this when we were booking. The music itself was fine and we were able to sleep as we were away from the actual dance area. However, we were woken at about half 3 with staff banging the doors closed. Not once but twice. This was on both nights.
When going upstairs one of the bits of carpet had come off the stairs & was a huge trip hazard because the steps are narrow in depth.
The room itself & ensuite were decorated nicely. It was very compact but was enough for what we needed for the weekend. However, it was boiling. The towel rail in the ensuite was permanently on & even when we turned it to * it still kept pumping out heat. We got the window open once with great difficulty. When we tried again the next morning it just wouldn't budge. The ensuite is designed beautifully but is to be honest a bit of a death trap. When the shower is on water goes every where. It is tiled floor & even with the shower mat it did little then become absolutely drenched.
The breakfast was lovely but we found it difficult to have to choose the night before. We also had to give a time between 9 & 10am for when we wanted breakfast. We found this odd. Has good potential but not likely to stay again.
Staff here could not be more friendly or welcoming. Breakfast was great too, our room was on the 2nd floor so minimal impact from nightclub noise! So good we booked to stay again next month.
Staff are friendly and amazing nice people sadly my room was positioned near a ventilator so had noise but room was ok its the people that make it great and the best cooked breakfast ever in any hotel not even 4 or 5 star hotels cook for you.
This Kings arms hotel is great and worth waking up to breakfast alone

Being a Saturday night it was very crowded and noisy. We were expecting this as we know that area of town but you might want to warn other guests when booking. Also concerned as there did not seem to be any fire regulations and guidance available and if there had been a fire no fire escape
