They are trying
The workers at the front desk we encountered were super nice and the food at breakfast delicious. There were some obvious renovations done such as the lobby area and some of the fixtures in our room, not everything was updated. In our room, the sheets were clean, the floor looked newer, & the bathroom sink and mirror were newer. However, the bed sagged, there was a mold stain on the ceiling by the bathroom, and the caulking around the tub had mold & rust spots. There was work being done on other rooms. The view of the lake was nice.

Looks like they are in the process of updating the rooms and ours was updated so that's a plus. The common areas were what is needing attention. The walkways were dirty and in need of a good pressure wash or at least a blower a few times per week. The outdoor common areas were what seemed in need of attention.

The property was old, room and outside areas were dirty. The fitness room, conference room and other bonuses were all piled with broken furniture with hand written signs reading “closed.” The parking lot was full with patrons of the hotel along with visitors of the bar, a lot of which were congregated and drinking in the lot. Breakfast was at least decent.

The hotel is located close to downtown and on Lake Guntersville. Hotel is old, needs renovations, new furniture and beds, quieter AC units. Restaurant food was not fully cooked both nights I tried it. Hot breakfast was okay, but they need more healthy choices like yogurt, toast, cereal and fresh fruit.

Weekend Anniversary Trip
For the age of this hotel, it’s great (they have done some updates). Room and linens were clean except there was a ton of dog hair on the couch (which didn’t bother us, as we have dogs so we understand, and didn’t use the couch). Staff was nice and polite. The only thing that might need clarification is that the balconies aren’t private. All in all, we had a good time and would stay here again.

Rooms at the front are closer to traffic and can be somewhat louder. Lakeside rooms are much more quiet. Excellent hotel.

The location was wonderful, lake front, close to lots of dining. The property does need some repairs. Our room had stains on the ceiling from water damage, some of the furniture was swollen and cracked from water damage, the concrete was cracked and crumbling on our balcony, the toilet flushed and the sink drained very slowly. But the staff was very kind. Breakfast buffet each morning was delicious!

We came into town on a girls trip for rock the south music festival. When we checked in the lady at the front desk was very nice. We had lunch in the restaurant which was OK. Then we got to our room. Immediately on walking in, we saw popcorn kernels on the floor. There was somebody’s earring back left on the bathroom counter and the bathroom tub and shower had mold on it. The AC worked great. The bed was super super comfortable, but the room definitely needed some repair. You could see people walking past the room from underneath the door leading outside. When we got back from the concert Saturday night, there was no parking anywhere in the lot and we had to park down towards what I think was a marina because the parking was full because of the new bar at the hotel , all in all it wasn’t a terrible stay, but it definitely wasn’t a good one or a great one. Fantastic location, absolutely stunning views, but I think if we were to come back into town again we would to stay somewhere else.
