delightful staff and old time charm. dinner in tavern was excellent. we had a room outside of main building. though older,was clean and comfortable. walkable to downtown. would highly recommend for a Middlebury stay

This place is average at best. The pictures are accurate but clearly done in such a way to present much more charm than really exists on the property. We found some leftover trash in the room, and the window AC let in noise from the street. After showering the whole room smelled musty to the point we had to open windows. There were a few other small things like squeaking floors and a ridiculously convoluted walk from parking to our room. Again all small things that were just a nuisance individually, but all that combined it was more than a letdown. Overall it wasn’t the worst place but adding on the little to do in the area I wouldn’t stay here again.

Our annex room was large with wonderful walk-in shower. My only complaint was only one server in the dining room, plus a little help from the bartender. Would still highly recommend this facility.

Loved the visit to Middlebury and our stay at the historic inn. Check in was fast, staff very friendly, our room in the Porter House large & clean, and we were situated right in the heart of the historic downtown.

Lovely Vermont Inn
Lovely historic Inn right in Town . Only has a service for staff which can be used for your luggage or at special request if climbing one or two floors is to much for you. Short walk to Supermarket or delightful CoOp which also offers coffee and food. Convenient parking lot and the Inn does have a restaurant but it is closed on Mondays.
