Relaxing Beach Get away
The house was as described. It was perfect for our family get away. We had 3 generations all together and everyone enjoyed it. The Carova Beach Area is amazing. The horses and other wild life were around everyday and made the beach vacation magical. The beach driving is not for the faint of heart though, you must have a 4x4 and there are days that a few spots on the beach get very narrow and patience is a must. So worth, that tiny bit of stress though, follow the rules about tire pressure and speeds and you will be fine. The house is 7 years old, so perfect in its imperfections, nothing that affected our stay, pool and hot-tub were awesome. The walk to the beach was short and doable, or you can drive your 4x4 to drop off your stuff and then take it back to the house. If you plan on parking your vehicle on the beach for the day, make sure you understand the permit needs etc. Overall a 10 out of 10. Would highly recommend. I am sharing this listing with Friends that have expressed an interest in doing this same vacation. There wasn’t anything we would have needed that wasn’t in the kitchen and make sure whoever gets there first has the paper products, you will want to make sure you have toilet paper and plenty of garbage bags etc.to bag up your trash, so that the wild life doesn’t make a mess you have to clean up!!

House was perfect for our group. Plenty of space for all of us and loved that there were baby items available for us to use! Needed linen for the pull out sofas, but Tracy was very responsive and able to put me in contact with someone to deliver linens. She was very helpful from start to finish with answering questions prior to the trip, during the trip, and helping us try to locate a lost item after we checked out. Thanks Tracy!

Best vacation ever!
We had 11 of us. Ample sleeping arrangements. Well stocked kitchen is an understatement! They have doubles of everything. From the blenders to the coffee makers. The outside needs a power washing, but other than that the property is awesome. And it is literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. Horses and deer everywhere. Great experience to see. Just a heads up if your staying in the main season, bring plenty of ice for your coolers for the beach. Highly recommend!!!😀

Great house
We had an amazing time. The house was well maintained and equipped with everything. It was a short walk or drive to the beach. The pool and hot tub was a great asset. If we had any questions Tracy the owner was great to respond in a timely manner. We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Outerbanks . A great time had by all.

Great place for friends and family!
We joined in with another family for Spring Break, totaling 7 kids and 4 adults! Ample room for everyone! The house was immaculate and well kept. Very sweet welcome basket on the counter when we arrived. The kitchen has everything you need! (We even found a lemon zester when my daughter wanted to make a pie!) We cooked all of our meals and literally there wasn’t anything that kitchen didn’t have. We enjoyed movie nights, reading in the nook, games of pool, hours in the hot tub, etc. you can take the short walk to the beach or drive over. We opted for walking alot in hopes of seeing more horses, which we saw a lot of! Beach days were a top favorite for the kids. Rainy days we spent in town at Corolla or Duck. Communication was so easy! Tracy answered all of our questions prior to our arrival and during our stay. We had a blast!

Neglected Home
Over the years, we have rented many homes in the OBX. We have never encountered a house as unkept and dirty as this one. Upon arrival, the shape of the home was very neglected and beat up. None of my family wanted to sit on the couches because of the stains. We flipped over cushions, trying to make it better, but some were stained on both sides. Many sheets were stained with what appeared to be bodily fluids and/or mold. There were also marks on the bathroom walls, and we didn't want to begin to imagine what that could have been. There was mold above the dining room table, and the kitchen was filthy. All barstools were sticky. The cabinets/drawers had so many crumbs from previous families. We had to take time to clean everything, as the cleaning crew didn't come again until the next day. Every rug in the house was dirty. Interestingly, the linens for the next family coming after us showed up on the front porch 3-4 days prior to us checking out. So, we came to understand why our linens were so gross, as they probably sat outside for days as well. Many of the outdoor chairs were broken. The grill was so dirty it often flared up, bad enough, we had to extinguish it at least twice. This could easily burn down the house if someone wasn’t watching or didn't know what they were doing. The hot tub water was not clean, very cloudy. Moreover, the primary power source to the hot tub had been chewed through by an animal, which we noticed after my nieces and parents had been in the hot tub. After calling the hot tub guy to clean it, we addressed the cut electrical cord, and he told us to immediately stop using the hot tub (we already had at that point) and that my nieces/parents could have been electrocuted. Our shower drain was clogged, which caused water to keep filling up. The maintenance person who came told me that the cleaners are supposed to inform them of any showers that are clogged before guests arrive, which they did not. When I explained to him how it seemed as if no deep cleaning had been done, he said the owner only has the cleaners do a deep clean TWICE A YEAR. I was shocked because you charge quite a lot for cleaning services. After driving from Ohio, we were exhausted and just wanted to relax, but we had to spend the evening of our 1st day cleaning. It was disgusting. I think the most disappointing part, though, was the fact that I called you and left you a voicemail regarding our concerns, and you never called me back.

We canceled our original plan of going to Ireland due to travel restrictions but were not disappointed by this great place. Plenty of room to spread out (all 16 of us) so much wildlife to see. Luckily we were warned of the rip currents and need for 4 wheel drive vehicles. Awesome place. Loved it!

Carova Vacation
We enjoyed Carova! It was much further out than we even anticipated, and we poo-poo'd how intense the beach driving would be. Make sure you are prepared for that! Smaller AWD vehicles probably do better than heavy diesel trucks like we had. The house was adequate, however there were some things needing attention (like curtain rods falling down etc). The kitchen was pretty tight and not a lot of room around the table/etc to move and navigate. But, all-in-all, we had a great vacation!

Loved this place!
The house was beautiful, clean, and just as described. We had a great time here and were surprised by the amount of cookware and appliances that were there! Views were stunning, horses were consistently in the backyard, and the house comfortably fit or party of 19. Make sure you bring toilet paper and other items like that as we missed it in the listing! Also, beware of the beach driving - it is intense! Plan your groceries to last you the whole week as getting back and forth to the house is difficult. Aside from the stress of the beach driving (which should not take away from the house), our vacation was amazing!

Outstanding Property
We had an incredible week in our first visit to the Outer Banks! The Nauti Nay-bors! property is one I would recommend in terms of the space for accommodating a group our size (12), layout of the house, eating and gathering areas, proximity to the beach. Overall can't speak highly enough of the property. There are ample bathrooms, the beds are comfortable, pool table, pool, hot tub, the house has everything you need. The accessibility to the beach, the wild horses is a truly unique experience. Here are some things you need to know about the property that we did not: 1. If you are traveling from some distance and are renting a vehicle, you need to know that this is on the 4x4 portion of the beach. Gorgeous beach, it's the place you want to be but 4x4 is mandatory, you absolutely can not get around without one or will get stuck and pay. Locals know this but it wasn't entirely clear that you should be aware of. No paved roads in this area which adds to the experience, just be prepared. 2. Household goods such as toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, soap in the bathrooms, even trash bags etc. are the responsibility of the renter. Make sure you pick those things up before getting to the house because they are not provided. As stated above, the location of this house does not lend itself to a quick run to the store. Just know before you go and be prepared. Ideally the house would be stocked with those items but if you know ahead of time and can plan ahead. 3. the house does have a pool and hot tub as well as outdoor shower so sand can be removed ahead of time which is nice. The house does have some beach toys if you are traveling with kids, we bought a couple nice boogie boards and left them. 4. If you are traveling locally, bring beach chairs, not provided at the house, there is a little beach umbrella. 5. There were a couple items we needed (more propane for the grill, more towels, etc.) the owner was very responsive and their is a contact list for maintenance and cleaning. Overall we greatly enjoyed our visit, the above mentioned items in no way ruined the trip but you need to make sure you are prepared.
